If you're looking for modern clean lines, this is not the place for you. Walton Park is a bit dated, quirky and we love it! It was worth paying for a room with a view. Even though the fog meant that we couldn't see the view, the room itself was lovely and spacious and the bed very comfortable. Friendly welcoming...

Great value. Room was very adequate, although toilet struggled to flush! Great views from the bar and garden area. Room had everything you need, although a little dated but it matches the age and charm of the hotel building. Didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the breakfast or food

I payed just over £100 for me and my wife. I was expecting a little more comfort and class. We were in room 406 and then discovered the toilet waste pipe was leaking (i stood in the sewage water). We reported it and the staff was really helpfull and moved us straight away to room 412. The pictures show a...

Lovely view across the water, but one pays the price for the draughts through the windows. Some facilities closed, scaffolding outside, broken furniture in corridors and lift archaic. Staff friendly but bar service slowest in living memory. This place needs some work to be worth the price of the rooms. I would opt for a B&B over this place if...

I stayed for one night as had an exam nearby the following day. Reception very good, friendly & helpful. Room was a good size and clean, the bed was comfortable. The room was spacious enough for me to study for a few hours. En-suite facilities very good. Breakfast very good, had everything I wanted. Cooked options were hot and cooked...

One of the worst hotels we have had the misfortune to visit. The staff were fairly friendly but the hotel was hideous. It is old, damp and in serious need of a revamp. The corridors were so bad we found it hard to breathe due to the chemicals used to mask the smell. The walls appear to have been repainted...

A lovely old accommodation but a little run down and could use some upgrades. Our room had a dripping sound coming from the cubby in the wall where the plumbing was as well as a musty and dirty smell. There were some issues with smell when the toilet was flushed. A beautiful view over the channel and a comfortable bed....

We are Best Western reward members and used our points for our one night stay. Had a large room with a very large comfortable bed. We had drinks and the cheese board in the bar which was good. The buffet breakfast was also good. The staff were very friendly. All in all a good stay.

The hotel is exactly as depicted on website - Victorian so lots of unique features including the lift and lovely irregular shaped rooms; focus on high level of customer service (even on New Years Eve nothing was too much trouble); and throughout immaculately clean and the rooms we used were very well maintained and decorated. Genuinely dog friendly - ours...
