A fabulous place! As the B&B building is separate to the owners' house we were able to rent the whole B&B as a self catering unit for a few days. Bedrooms are all lovely especially Carroll which has amazing views of the mountain. Each bedroom is en-suite except Rowling which has it's own private bathroom. The property is big with...

Thanks so much for your review Emily. We are so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. You were our first self catering guests so it's good to know everything was ok for you. Hope to see you again soon! Sara

We chose this B&B because of its reviews on Tripadvisor. What a fabulous place !. This was our first experience of B&B and it couldn't of been better. Carl and Sara were happy to help if we needed anything , but at the same time were unobtrusive, giving their guests privacy. The guest rooms are in a separate building to...

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us, we really appreciate it. We are always a bit nervous about guests who come based on our Trip Advisor reviews, we are thrilled to get such wonderful reviews but worry it will cause people to come with huge expectations of a luxury palace which isn't what we are about....

Stopped over for a night on a short motorcycle tour of wales. Had a fantastic home cooked meal, washed down with a locally brewed ale. Sarah and carl are very welcoming and really make it a home from home experience. Location benefits from outstanding views with and numerous fantastic roads nearby. Highly recommended.

Thanks for your review Darren. We really appreciate it and are so glad you enjoyed your stay, even if it was a short one. You'll have to come back again with your bike - it must be a fantastic way to travel on these windy Welsh roads! All the best Sara

We researched this B & B on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. We booked three rooms and everyone was delighted with their room. Lovely and clean. Nothing was too much trouble. Evening meal was excellent and the chocolate birthday cake was delicious. Would recommend staying here to anyone. We will be back to enjoy some more excellent service and...

Thanks Les! It was really nice to meet you all and I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday with us. I'm also glad you liked the cake, once you managed to eat it - I have decided in the future I should offer the birthday cake instead of a dessert and then people won't be too full to eat it! Look...

We spent 2 nights at this lovely B&B. Sara, one of the owners, came out to greet us and was very friendly and welcoming. The B&B has a 'home from home' sort of feel. There's a living room with a fire, board games, DVDs and books. The room we stayed in ('Carroll') overlooked the mountains, was spacious and comfortable with...

Thank you so much for that review. "Home from home" is exactly what we try and offer so I'm thrilled that's how you felt. I'm glad you enjoyed the lack of mobile phone reception too! We think it's a bonus - it's a sure fire way to ensure you don't let phone calls interrupt your holiday but it's good for...

We stayed here a few years ago and just had to go back. Sara and Carl are fantastic hosts. We had the carrol room with its double doors and view of cadir. The breakfast, evening meals and packed lunch were stunning. This is how every break should be.

"How every break should be" Thank you so much for that review! I used to own a bookshop and my tag line was "Everything a bookshop should be." I'm thinking of re using that for the B&B but we feel we still have a few things to do before we feel it's totally perfect but I'm so glad that that...

The reviews for this little gem of a B&B really say it all. We arrived after a long day of walking on a rather warm day, tired and dishevelled. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Simon and Liz would love to welcome you to Dolffanog Fach. Our aim is to provide the warm and friendly welcome of a traditional B&B with the standards and special touches you would expect from a boutique hotel. Unlike most B&Bs we do not "live in", we have a little cottage just next door so you don't need to feel as though you are staying in someone's home. We have 4 lovely double bedrooms, a sitting room with a log fire and a beautiful dining room with a slate floor and wood burning stove. Our dining room is big enough to accommodate individual tables for each guests but small enough to be cosy and allow you to chat to other guests if you wish. We have a large garden that you are welcome to explore - including a full vegetable garden! We also have a Finnish Sauna which is just perfect after a long day's hike or cycle in our astonishingly beautiful surroundings. If you are a walker or mountain biker then we can offer you our "Boots & Bikes" Room. Secure storage for your bikes, boots, helmets and clothes and we can also offer laundry facilities. Our breakfasts are designed to really set you up for the day and also offer plenty of variety if you are staying for more than a few days. You could stay for a week and have a different breakfast every day! We really want to offer our guests value for money and put a lot of effort into the little things, the biscuits in the rooms are homemade and freshly baked, the milk is fresh and the coffee is ground and there are lots of other little touches that guests always comment on and say how much they make a difference. Children of any age are more than welcome and we also welcome dogs and they are allowed in the rooms and sitting room, we don't permit them in the dining room but you are welcome to leave them in the bedrooms while you eat. We hope you'll come and stay with us, we can promise you a friendly welcome, lovely rooms, delicious food, glorious surroundings and a truly relaxing stay. ... more   less
