My husband and I spent a short three day break at this beautiful hotel with our two dogs. It was perfect in every way - comfortable well appointed room, wonderful food with a daily-changing menu. The two lounges were tastefully decorated and welcoming with a lovely open fire. The service was courteous, friendly and helpful. I particularly appreciated the daily...

Stayed in this lovely country house hotel for two nights last week. Accommodation was very comfortable and warm. We had a master room in the converted stable block with a private patio, views over the garden and hills. Access to these rooms may be a problem for those with mobility issues. Steep steps from the main hotel. Handrail provided !...

Having booked last minute we were more than pleased to find this fantastic hotel. Particularly as we had our dog with us. Couldn't of asked for better service, room and food. Lovely welcome by this family fun hotel. Thanks. Keep it in the family! Only slight disappointment for us and I know some would be thankful was there was no...

Booked this hotel for the first time from Good Friday to Easter Monday, initially attracted by their "dog friendly" policy. On arrival was given a welcome pack for Ronnie, our border collie, and we were presented with cream tea & scones in the lounge with blazing log fire. Our bedroom was spacious and very comfortable with a nice en-suite. We...

My husband and I had a spur of the moment 3 night break and travelled to Wales. On our last night we had no idea where we would stay but googled at the last minute and ended up at the Pen-y-Dyffryn around 7pm. Absolutely stunning situation, the beautiful homely hotel commands a view of the serene countryside and our room...

Spent 2 nights here, lovely hotel in super, quiet location. Service very good, decor pleasant, food mostly excellent, dog friendly & very clean. Would recommend if you book through a 3rd party (eg booking.com), that you take a print out of the price, as our stay was discounted by more than they suggested. They were very pleasant about it &...

Our third stay in this lovely hotel. Informal and friendly, but still very efficient. Menu changes every day and food is beautifully presented, and all locally sourced. Great location for walking and also in easy reach of several National Trust properties and other attractions if the weather is bad. Very poor mobile signal, so one is forced to chill!

We went for a four day break and the hotel was in the same guide book as one we use regularly in Scotland. We were not disappointed. The hotel is a small country house hotel about 4 miles outside Oswestry just 40 yards from the Welsh Border. Lovely fires in the two lounges, lovely food, lovely and helpful staff and...

The hotel is tucked away on the England Wales border and offers lovely countryside views. The room I was in was double aspect and looked up and across the valley. The welcome was warm and friendly and the property has lots of character. Breakfast was excellent although we didn't have dinner there. I will be visiting again.
