Invited to a so called exclusive sneak peek evening after a recent refurbishment. We arrived at the allotted time and as anticipated the place was very busy. We were asked to go and get a drink at the bar whilst our table was sorted. Fine. I ordered a pint of real ale and a glass or sparkling mineral water. £7.75!... More

We stayed here for the second of our visits to Wychwood Brewery and getogether, back in July. Fortunately we booked well in advance as this place is pretty much always fully booked. The room as usual was just fine, the breakfasts were superb. This is a great place to stay right in the centre of Witney.

We stayed in the disabled room for one night for my sister's 50th birthday as she lives in Witney. The hotel staff were friendly and had conveniently arranged for us to park right outside our room which was fantastic as there is no parking at the hotel. The hotel seems to be trying for the boutique look in its decor... More

We stayed here as we were spending the day at a wedding at Cogges Farm. The venue is about a 6 minute drive from the Blue Boar so it was convenient to stay in. There is no parking, but we could park on the street around the corner and that was fine. So, why a 3 stars? This is a... More

We had 2 rooms, 8 & 9 on a Saturday night. A good atmosphere for a drink and an excellent meal. Only to be ruined by noise that was so loud the floor shook the wardrobe rattled and impossible to talk yet alone sleep. As another reviewer says do not stay if you wish to sleep. They did find one... More

If you're in Witney to go out on the town and only want to sleep from 2am-5am, then this is the place to stay! Other than that, I do not recommend staying here. We were in town for a wedding, booked a room for 2 nights, and both nights we were kept up until 1-2am due to the loud club... More

We booked for a Fri night and although the restaurant was full we did not have a huge wait for meals and there was a nice gap between courses. All 4 of us ordered different main courses and desserts and they were all cooked to perfection and the presentation was stunning. The clientele was slightly older so it wasn't a... More

A disappointing visit after an earlier experience in their second building across the courtyard. Our double room was only just that: a small double bed (that was soft, uncomfortable with lumpy quilt and pillows) in a small room with a small bathroom. The room like several others was immediately above the bar with its late night music and late night... More

Over priced really, badly located with a lot of external noise but I guess that's the UK hotel market these days but what was really outrageous was that our office booked a room with breakfast... When we went down in the morning there was a continental breakfast laid out, very basic, and a priced menu on the table. We assumed... More
