Fantastic place to stay! After a hard days walking it was the best place we could have imagined, friendly, beautiful setting and delicious food, sitting in the conservatory watching the sunset with a glass of wine is a memory I hope will stay with me for a long time.

Returning to the quintessentially English farmhouse hospitality of Joanna Whittington was like coming home. Four years ago,I arrived at the end of an inspiring day of walking The Ridgeway, with tired feet, and was instantly restored by a lovely hot soak in the bath, followed by a cold beer taken in the lovely conservatory, and finished off with a beautiful... We stopped here on the second day of our ridgeway walk. It is perfectly positioned on the route. We were welcomed warmly and shown to a lovely room with everything we could want including comfortable bed! We enjoyed a lovely evening meal in the dining room/ conservatory overlooking the gorgeous garden . After a lovely freshly cooked breakfast we set... More

This B&B is perfectly placed for those walking the Ridgeway as it's just off the path. Jo, the host, is so accommodating and cooked us a delicious dinner and breakfast. We were even offered some wine/beers, which was much appreciated after a long day's walk, and a packed lunch for the next day. The beds are comfortable and there are... More

We stayed at Hill Barn whilst walking the Ridgeway (2 dads and 2 kids). We were camping and pitched our tents at the end of the garden on a very luxurious soft lawn. We ate a fantastic evening meal and were very well looked after for the evening - including a board game before dinner! There was a very hearty... More

This was our first night's stay while walking the Ridgeway, and we were tired and hungry and dirty. Jo welcomed us and fixed us up quite well. We had a delicious dinner, a hot shower and a cozy bed. AND our first Ridgeway Full English breakfast. We were back out hiking the next day---fully rested and ready to go.

Located directly on the Ridgeway Trail, above Sparsholt, this bucolic and immaculate B&B is the perfect place to spend a night or two. Ms. Whittington, the energetic and courteous owner, offers a most gracious welcome in a quiet and restful area away from towns and hubbub. Even the dogs are most welcoming! We did not have a nicer experience during... More

We stayed here while walking the Ridgeway and were greeted on arrival by the lovely host, Jo, who couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. Only after a while did I realise I had stayed here years before and remembered I had been treated to the same warm and friendly welcome back then. Tea and biscuits in our lovely room... More

Hill Barn was a useful find as it is next to the path (and usefully marked on the OS map) in an area where most of the accommodation is down the hill (or, more importantly, up the hill the next morning). Our room was very nice; tidy shower room en suite with excellent water pressure and good hot water! Supper... More

We stay for 1 night then 2 further nights later in the week. Joanne couldn't of been more welcoming and obliging, the breakfast was great and cooked however you wanted it. Room had great views and the shower the best we have found in many B&B's. We will be back next year. Thanks again Joanne.
