Firstly, let me say that we had a "groupon" deal and so as this probably represents a discounted deal from the hotels perspective we don't expect the best room in the house etc. However, I would counsel people that there are some very small rooms (e.g. our room - room 26) as well as some that are pictured on the...

This hotel is in Thame high street, from here you can catch a bus to Oxford and many other attractions. As you enter the hotel your greeted by a lovely lounge area. All the staff are very friendly. Our room was a good size with a wardrobe and drawers. In the bathroom there was shower gel, shampoo, sewing kit, shower...

We arrived and receptionist couldn't find key to room.....room 23 I had a bad feeling at once. We had had a family crisis and I didn't look closely at the room and the bathroom when we booked in.... Finally when we arrived late in the evening the toilet seat was white on the top and a shredded mess when you...

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-week stay over Christmas. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, our room was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Everything we needed, including parking and shopping, was close by. Each day we experienced Spread Eagle's history which made our stay memorable. Already planning our next visit!

In the middle of the village, we were facing the main street, didn't hear much noise considering it was a Saturday night. Staff were very helpful, room was lovely (in need of a lick of paint in some places) The only downside was the mattress - a bit thin, a more expensive mattress would be good Our dinner in the...

Quirky hotel yet very disappointed. Waited over an hour and a half for food. When my steak arrived it was pure gristle & fatty, the waitress was lovely and tended to me immediately, i received another steak & it was burnt beyond recognition, so that got returned too, so I never had any dinner! Another two couples complained and one...

A very premature review considering I've only been here 2 hours! What an absolute gem! A proper quirky hotel definitely one of a kind! Was greeted by lovely receptionist Zara who kindly upgraded us to a garden room, and was so in awe of the decor that the manager came out to see if everything was ok! He was a...

We have just spent two nights at the Spread Eagle and we had a lovely Garden Room No 33. It was warm, spacious and clean. A good sized bathroom with bath and shower. Plenty of hot water. The room opened up on to a private garden for a few rooms and ours looked out on to a lovely bed of...

This is a lovely hotel in a very quaint little town in Oxfordshire. About half an hour from Oxford by car. Or there's a bus, the 280. Car park at the rear at a cost of £3 for 24 hours. We stayed on an excellent Groupon deal, bed, breakfast and evening meal. Food was amazing! Staff were lovely. Room was...
