#1 of 4 hotels in Faringdon
Travellers' Choice
Once a fine Regency residence, the hotel is situated in the beautiful market town of Faringdon, close to Oxford, Shrivenham and Swindon. Surrounded by nine acres of landscaped gardens,Sudbury House can offer a quiet break away from it all, yet still being close to local businesses and towns, including RAF Brize Norton, Cranfield University and the Defence Academy.Close to the main Swindon to Oxford Road, the A420, the hotel is within easy access of the M4 and M40. Refurbished and redecorated completely in 2015, the Sudbury House is a great base for the Oxfordshire and Wiltshire counties.

We arrived early for an afternoon tea and we’re welcomed into the bar to relax as final touches were made for the tea as it was all freshly prepared on the day! All staff were very professional and friendly and were very attentive. The hotel itself was very inviting with a calm atmosphere. Decorated very modern and contemporary but with a cosy feel. The garden looked very well kept and would be nice to stroll through in warmer months. The afternoon tea was delicious with cakes, pastries and sandwiches made that morning. The chocolate brownie was amazing! Would highly recommend booking here. It was a shame we were just there for an afternoon tea but would consider staying!

Stayed with my mother for s couple of nights last week, a few problems with heating but staff dealt with it well. All staff that we met were very pleasant and helpful, as was the general manager, well done . Would return again.

Just back from a 3 day family party reuniting 22 of us across 3 generations, booked in 2018 for 2020 but postponed due to Covid. Special thanks go to Jane the General Manager for making the weekend so special and who leads her team by example. The whole experience was fantastic, from the Events team leading up to it (having to organise and re-organise due to changing restrictions) to the weekend itself. The hotel staff were all kind, considerate and helpful whether on Reception, in the restaurant or behind the scenes in housekeeping. The food was exceptional and the service seamless – especially on the Saturday when we were one of 2 private dinners and the hotel and restaurant were full. Judged an excellent celebration by us all! This wasn’t the first time my husband & I had stayed here and it won’t be our last. In my experience for the best service I recommend you deal direct with the hotel.

lovely hotel, check in was efficient with friendly staff and a welcoming feel. Our room was perfectly adequate, modern and very clean, the bed was really comfy so had a great nights sleep.the only downside to the room was there was no hairdryer. The meal we had in the evening was lovely, brisket that was so tender for myself steak for my husband that just melt in your mouth, once again we were served efficiently and even though it was fairly busy food arrived with very little wait,Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice and all freshly cooked and plentiful.

We needed two rooms near Cirencester in a hotel that would take a dog and reserve an electric car charger for a Saturday night and this was the closest that I could find! The hotel is a standard business class place but the location is amazing, walking distance into Faringdon which is a lovely little market town, and a short drive to Radcot, Lechlade and Badbury Hill. So if you want a weekend break in your electric car with your dog this fits the bill perfectly!
