Ideal location for exploring North Northumberland and close to Wooler, a thriving little market town. Beth very knowledgeable on cycling routes. Only sad she couldn't join us! Mike full of information on local history and where to try for food and walks.

A truly excellent B&B situated in lovely countryside a couple of miles south of Wooler on the edge of the Cheviots. Before we arrived the owners sent us detailed directions from Wooler and recommendations on local dining. Firwood has three excellent bedrooms. They are spotlessly clean and well fitted out. There is a lovely guest lounge. We were warmly welcomed... More

Peace Tranquility Good breakfast. Need I say any more. A little gem within spitting distance of the national park. Mike and Beth make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive and don't forget Ron's Taxis so you can fully relax when dining out in the evening.

Very friendly.only 3 rooms available but spacious and well equipped.with..guest lounge. Would have preferred more comfortable chairs in room as most guests would not be comfortable in guest lounge. Good breakfast well presented perhaps more fresh fruit available. I know fresh fruit available as healthy option but would have been nice to have more than grapefruit segments. Nice to sea... More

Our second visit to this wonderful area. Firwood is quiet and comfortable, lovely rooms and breakfast. Plenty of wildlife to see, including red squirrels. Sadly it rained for our 4 day visit, but we were cosy and warm at Firwood, and there was plenty of information to help us enjoy our visit, as well as a wealth of advice from... More

We stayed in the B&B for 2 nights. We came away for a relaxing couple of days so we didn't do much in the local area, so can't review about that, but the B&B itself was lovely... it was warm and comfortable and the room was big with a nice bathroom. When we arrived we had tea and cake next... More

Firwood is a small B&B located 1.5 miles from Wooler. Very nice rooms and operated by very nice people. Wonderful wild life including red squirrels and wood peckers. Great base for exploring this area of Northumberland and the boarders. Wooler has sufficient restaurants and pubs to satisfy most discerning travellers.

My first visit to Northumberland and it won't be the last. A super location and B&B. The owner , Beth , was a wealth of local knowledge and helpful in all respects. The garden abounds in wildlife and even boasts a visiting Peacock. Breakfasts were excellent as was the accommodation. Will definitely stay again and can recommend. My only disappointment... More

We had never been to Northumberland before and what a great choice we made. Firwood was a beautiful place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights so we could explore the region. Wonderful view from our room, birdlife galore. Mike was a wonderful host as he told us where we could dine and what to see around the area. Enjoyed... More

From the warm greeting to the friendly and familiar goodbye the service and interaction with the hosts was impeccable. The views where glorious and the coal fire in the living room with the grandfather clock ticking in the background added to the comfortable ambiance. Not one for usually staying in B&B's I would admit to being a total convert -... More
