Visited here for the first time despite passing on a regular basis. Food was okay but menu limited to usual pub grub which was ok but not great. Staff friendly and efficient. Ambiance nice and sure it's pleasant in the evenings. Would go back if in the area and imagine it's nice in summer when you can get outside.

I stayed two nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar was good and I had an enjoyable couple of meals there. The room itself was clean; the corridor less so. The main light in the bedroom was a fluorescent tube which wasn't working and there was rather a lot of noise from the kitchen's extractor fan in...

We visited this very friendly village local twice during the week of our Northumberland holiday and we have to say the standard of food and service on both nights was to a very good standard, with very friendly staff and locals. This is not a fine dining pub just very good pub grub with plenty on the plate, you will not...

Stopped off on way home from Scotland both had Turkey roast. Turkey was ok but all vegetables over cooked and cold served with lumpy gravy which tasted as if made from granules, soft Yorkshire and tasteless roast potatoes. One to miss.

Used to stop off here back in the day travelling to Coldstream to play golf, made a good stop off on way to Newcastle. We were walking in Rothbury on Simonside hills and decided to call in on way back, it was a lovely day, parking plentiful, they are dog friendly (big plus), and they have a beer garden, fitted...

After booking for the Sunday carvery, proceeded to get our food. After waiting a number of minutes for the chef to return she proceeded to slap the meat and yorkshire onto the plate. A little personality and a smile would have been nice. The food itself was very good. Shame about the service.

Looking for somewhere to eat while travelling through Northumberland we saw The Shoulder of Mutton in Longhorsley. It looked modern from the outside but a bit dated inside. We had ham and chicken pie and a trio of yorkies with beef. The pie was not a pie but more a casserole with a flaky pastry lid and the yorkies were...

I booked a table for six of us to celebrate my parents 80th birthdays on Saturday lunch time after checking out reviews and we were all not disappointed. The staff were superb from start to finish and they all couldn,t do enough for you. They were all so friendly. The place itself is so cosy and warm when you arrive,...

Stopped off here with the outlaws after a day out. Yeah, the food was okay. But that is as far as it went. Also for the money it is a little pricey. I had the fish. My partner had the liver. Wish I has gone for the liver as it looked amazing. Fish was just a generic fish and chips...

We stopped off here for tea one night during a recent stay at Linden Hall. It was lovely! The food was excelkenr value for money, speedy service and top quality pub grub. The restaurant side was quite empty - which we were happy about. The lady in charge at the time was extremely friendly and helpful - great recommendation of...
