We were at the end of our walk, St Cuthburt's Way and our misfortune to have booked this so called B&B. Yes we were told we would be the only ones using the house, it's not a B&B but her home so we should treat it has our homes. There was no kettle so we could not get hot drinks,...

We were met by the owner of the Belmont telling us how "The Belmont" was her home and not a B&B. This amazed us as there was a sign attached to the wall that read BED & BREAKFAST.We were told she was born in this house and inherited it from her mother. What she omitted to say was that NOTHING...

Having stayed at many B&Bs all over the UK, this was by far the worst one I've ever stayed in. Added to that, it was also one of the most expensive at £100 for a twin room. The room was very old fashioned with dust laden window sills. No television in the room. No kettle / tea making facilities. One...

I should have checked first as to why this was the only place not booked up for the weekend in May we wanted. It is certainly not good value at £100 per night per room. If you want an experience of Holy Island in times gone by, then this is for you. I had to ask for a glass of water,...

and you won't be disappointed. We were apprehensive about staying here but we couldn't have been more charmed. This is someone's home and we found the landlady to be great company, able to give us good advice about the island and ames a great pot of tea in the morning. Yes, you do have to have breakfast at a set...

Couldn't get into hotel or Rose Villa (both excellent) so stayed at Belmont. Wish we hadn't. To be fair the beds were comfortable with clean sheets but the lounge stank of wet dog, you could write in the dust in the bedroom, the towels were very small and no hand towel in (shared ) bathroom. It says there is parking...

I spent two nights at Belmont in August walking the coast path. Having read the various reviews AFTER I had booked I did consider cancelling but decided to to go ahead, forewarned being forearmed and I was pleasantly surprised. My arrival time was dependent on the local bus which was 1 pm so I rang Mrs Glover the night before...

Having read previous reviews I was somewhat apprehensive when I arrived at this B&B, although Mrs Glover had been absolutely charming on the 'phone. We received an extremely warm welcome, she had reserved a parking space for us and then took great delight in telling us how to get to various places of interest on the island. One has to...

Well, at least other folks could book. I rang for information for a 4 night stay and when I mentioned I'd have to leave early (6am) on the final morning was promptly told by the owner she didn't want my booking. The phone call was then ended. Was it something I said?

Very disappointed by this B&B, but had little choice as almost everywhere else on the island was booked up for the Bank Holiday weekend. The price (£100 per night for a twin room) was very high particularly given that the facilities were poor and inadequate. No tea/coffee or TV in the room. The old-fashioned bathroom (shared between 4 people) had...
