The title of this review sums up our feelings about this hotel, as I will now explain. My wife and I stayed here for two nights on a bed, breakfast and evening meal basis in October. We stayed in room 14 which is on the first floor at the rear of the building. There is no lift. The hotel is...

We have stayed here a number of times now. Sometimes with the kids and when we're lucky enough on our own! We love this place. It's a proper old hotel, with character and fantastic staff. We always feel welcomed and nothing is too much trouble. It is also in a fantastic location on the Northumberland coast, so fab for visiting...

Me and my wife called in for evening tea dogs also welcome in the bar. We ordered food and it looked lovely but half way through my wife's pasta went to mush. The bar man when collecting our plates asked if it was ok and my wife said not really. He offered her a starter or desert but she declined....

We ate here a couple of times during our stay in the area. We chose it because it allowed dogs in the bar. We were very happy with the food on both occasions. The steak and ale pie was especially delicious; it came with a loose puff pastry top, often served in pubs, but the pie filling was better than...

We came here for dinner while staying in Belford. We arrived at 6pm for an early dinner. The restaurant of the hotel was empty because it was a Sunday and so early so we decided to eat in the bar/pub area. The bar was full with locals who just finished watching rugby. Everyone was very friendly and the staff was...

Outside looks great. Inside leaves a lot to be desired.Stair up to bedrooms dirty, room cold, warning 're hot water supply being iffy. Paintwork grubby and the whole place very run down. My husband and I were looking forward to spending the night at The Blue Bell but ended up driving home to Edinburgh instead. We do like old world charm but...

I'm sorry to say it was dreadful! The room - which I think was a converted stable - was beyond tired, the shower wasn't attached to the wall (difficult to shower one-handed!) and to top it all the loo was 'dirty'! No wifi at all I have to say though the staff were really nice and the breakfast was excellent!...

The location in OK, it could do with some money spending on it, the food wasn't brilliant, nor was the service, Wi-Fi in the room was impossible, but the cherry on icing was one night when we went down for a night cap at about 10.00pm to be told the only beer was some gassy, keg stuff. When mentioned to...

It's no longer the super coaching inn it was when the A1 ran through the town. It's now more of a small town hotel and like many could do with vast sums lavishing on it. But the food is good as is the beer. My wife had a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich, the salmon was from Eyemouth -...

Last week I had a very enjoyable lunch at this wonderful old inn in Belford. We had a drink at the well stocked bar and studied the excellent menu. I chose a crayfish and mushroom bruschetta with truffle oil which was delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It was a pleasure to be in the beautiful old inn, eating...
