We booked at the last minute for my husband's birthday. The reception staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. We were given a special deal for 2 night DBB with one night free in the AA rosette winning Gray's restaurant. Our room was the Gray Suite and it had an excellent bathroom with large bath and shower and...

We stayed in November with our friends for a winter break as work only permits us to take holidays out of season . This was our second visit this year as we love Bamburgh and the surrounding area. We were a little disappointed with our room, as there were tell tale signs from the last guests with nuts on the...

We were staying here at the recommendation of our fellow travellers who had stayed here on several occasions previously and on this DBB package we were not disappointed. Other Reviewers have rightly commented on the quality of the Bedroom fixtures and fittings and ours (Swans) met that exactly. The decor may not be to everyone's taste but those of us...

Despite the fact that we stayed there for 2 nights we didn't see a single senior sraff at any time . Let alone welcome us when we first arrived we were checked in by a junior staff member who popped out from her work desk in another room into the 'cold soulless' reception Hall. All the time we were filling...

My husband and I decided to spend two evenings here on our own as part of our ruby wedding celebrations. It has an old country house feel and was well situated for us to explore nearby Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, Seahouses and Craster etc. My initial booking was B&B through Booking.com and the email from the hotel confirming the reservation mentioned that...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room (Swans) was excellent, sparkly clean and with masses of storage space and additional sitting area. It overlooked the rear court yard and then to distant countryside - very pleasant. This is a family owned hotel and is full of their memorabilia, some would say too full (busy) but we thought it helped...

Or perhaps even old-fashioned...... Virtue or drawback depending on your point of view. It's friendly and different, a wonderful change from sleek modern chain hotels. The decor is eccentric. I was in the Oriental - that's the name of the room. Willow-pattern colours in the wallpaper and an odd light fitting, heavy furniture and an opulent feel. A large bathroom...

This quiet country hotel gives you the ideal base to see Northumberland from. I live in Northunberland but this was a weekend of seeing it with different eyes. The staff are very helpful and all go the extra mile especially Anne and Neil. The food is excellent quality and cooked to perfection. If you want to chill and relax the...

We have just spent 3 days at the Waren House Hotel. Located just a few miles off the A1, south of Berwick, on route to Bamburgh, the hotel is set in countryside and very pleasant surroundings they are. It is a good base for visiting Bamburgh and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (the reason for our trip) The house has...
