Enjoyed my birthday meal here last night with family. Brilliant waiter who recommended a lovely wine & starters. Meal was overall very nice however, portion sizes were smaller than expected which disappointed. Nice place and will return.

Beautiful old building with terrace and gardens. Executive room with huge en suite, very classy. Restaurant food nice but not exceptional - a high end hotel should deserve a more refined menu! Lovely breakfast in the sunny garden, very friendly staff.

The Manager and staff could not have been more helpful in organising a memorable dinner in the Whitwell Room decorated for the occasion. Our guests stayed at the hotel, provision was made for us to share a large table for breakfast, the curtesy and attention of the staff throughout ( and we have stayed at many hotels) was second to...

The Talbot is an imposing, Elizabethan coaching inn in the centre of lovely Oundle, an unspoilt small town of stone-built houses. The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. The receptionist told us something of the history of the hotel and was obviously proud to be working there. The hotel is immaculately maintained and has managed to include wheelchair-friendly features such...

The Talbot is a lovely hotel, pretty outside seating area and lovely spacious light interior. The service is excellent and friendly and the food lovely, although the portions are small! Overall a good experience.

Stayed here with my husband for 3 nights as we were in the area visiting family. Right in the centre of the gorgeous Oundel with all you need. Breakfast has a great choice of hot and cold options. Rooms clean and spacious. Interesting history and a lovely building. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend.

If I had a criticism it would be the size of the bathroom, Room 208, it is tight you must turn cautiously I am looking forward to...

With a son at the school nearby, the hotel is fast becoming a home away from home: perfectly located and with excellent, friendly service. It was a real treat to spend some time in such lovely surroundings.
