Very good food and comfortable newly refurbished room. Apart from trivial matters such as omissions of cups and sugar in room. Plenty of storage in room but lacking in shower/ toilet room though this was immaculate and shower worked well. Probably just teething troubles would definitely recommend.

Recent refurbishment has made for a very comfortable stay at the Star Inn. The welcome is warm and the food is very nice and good value for money. A stay here is highly recommended in an ideal location to explore N Yorkshire.

The Sun Inn is a beautiful in all aspects. It's very clean, fresh, whilst offering roaring, warm log fires. Along side is the well thought out menu, something for everyone. Having ordered the ribeye steaks, we, my husband and I were not disappointed. Where to start, good presentation, attention to flavour and cook as requested. A fabulous dinning experience, great...

The food is brilliant. There is a wide variety of choice on the modern menu, all of which is reasonably priced. We visit here every couple of weeks and could not recommend enough. There is always a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere.

We live in the village of Weaverthorpe and since Julian and Rachel have taken over we eat there once every two weeks if not more. The Star is now very cosy and decorated to a high standard. Lots of choice on the menu and changes often. Never had a bad meal. Highly recommended

Recently visited with my family for an evening meal. The food itself was outstanding and I would highly recommend the belly pork. The only thing that let it down was the very slow service. After an hour and a half we had only received our starters. However, I would rather wait for good food than be given crap for a...

We enjoyed a first class Sunday lunch here recently. Lovely, tender beef and veggies with super Yorkshire pudding and gravy. I really enjoyed the chicken liver pate to start and my other half had a delicious warm apple cake to finish. Love the new decor and the wood burner. Great to see a pub in this area go up market...

It's so nice to see this wonderful country Inn in capable hands again, as it has been so sad to see its decline over the last few years....the food is tasty and freshly cooked, and their Sunday Lunches are excellent, with a lovely choice of veggies on the side. A well stocked bar adds to the experience as well as...

Stopped on the off chance for a Sunday lunch. Recently renovated with a warm welcome. The food was outstanding, our starters, French onion soup and chicken liver pate, followed by smoked haddock on a bed of crushed potatoes and prawn butter sauce. It was probably one of the best main courses both of us had for ages. I finished off...
