My husband and I stayed for a few days and found it very very comfortable. The bed was extremely big and the mattress and linens were first class. We slept wonderfully. The huge view out the back of the house of the river and the dales beyond was amazing. Roger was very accomodating. The house policy is to offer fishing...

We stayed in Room 4 which looked over towards the rear garden and on to the river beyond. The bathroom was outside our room across the landing, this had a separate shower and bath with jacuzzi (which was not working). Our bedroom was slightly on the small side with a double bed that was very comfortable and well equipped with...

On arrival, host Roger makes you feel totally welcome in his own home (which it is) with open fires in both the lounge and dining room, the facilities he provides are worthy of establishments charging at least twice the price - he provides an excellent evening meal as well, we just hope he doesn't wear himself out! Will certainly stop...

Glases in room unclean, no choice of menu at dinner fish pie only available for main course (not eveyone likes fish pie and no alternative was offered). Not good value at £21.50 pp. Breakfast was good with a range of cereals and fruit but the cooked breakfast was barely enough for 4 people as only 3 has browns for 4....

We spotted Rowleth End when driving past and knocked at Roger's door unannounced. We received a warm welcome, very good rates and a great service. The bedrooms were excellent, very comfortable, with beautiful views. Our double rooms were to a high standard in both cleanliness and amenities. Despite our unexpected early evening arrival, we were served an excellent meal. Breakfast...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Are you weary of stress and hectic living, and need to breathe new energy into body and soul? Then Rowleth End is for you. Hospitality at its best; on weekends, more a house party than a hotel or guest house. Its five guest bedrooms are individually styled with quality beds and period furniture. The evening menus feature the very best of local produce. Log fires; local real ales at the bar. Relax in style and comfort, yet with plenty of informality. ... more   less
