Lovely old rooms with grand staircase; very friendly - and breakfast gives choice of high dining sauces. Beautifully situated above the old town. We stayed here at the end of our walking. We would have been happy to stay another night - to recover and sit in the bar and garden looking out over the sea.

After several visits over the last 49 years we weren't disappointed with the food. Always good. However I don't like the new layout. Where previously it was possible to be in either the bar or the family room, there is now only one large space. Just not practical for all sorts of reasons. Perhaps the new owners could explain why?

My husband and I decided to stop here on our way back up from Robin Hoods Bay. Our 3 month old baby needed a feed and nappy change so we stopped for a drink. It was quite windy outside so after ordering our drinks we went inside.... the heating in there was insane! It was so hot! The place itself...

Myself, husband and toddler stayed in room 7 for 1 night as a last minute booking. We could not fault our stay. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The quality of the food was great and the view from our room was out of this world. Just what we needed for a little getaway to refresh us. Thank you...

Great room. Food fantastic (especially the chicken jalfrezi) one of the best I have had. House keepers did a great job turning the room around while we had breakfast. A special mention for Katie for going the extra mile. Nothing to much trouble . She had a very bubbly personality .

Didn't stay here but was walking passed and noticed they sold food to non guests so we thought we would try. Both got a sausage sandwich each. It was massive and very tasty. 2 sarnies a coffee and a pot of tea for £10 it was worth every penny. The waitress who served us brought it all outside, while we...

Ate here on two occasions on our recent stay in RHB. On both occasions the food was of good restaurant quality even though we ordered off the bar menu. The staff were friendly and helpful which is not the case in a number of RHB establishments. We will definitely eat here again on our next visit to the area.

A perfect end to our 25th wedding anniversary. A lovely meal in the hotel we had our wedding reception. Excellent food and what a treat a bottle of champagne courtesy of the hotel. So kind of them. Polite service from the staff. Couldn't have wished for better and would highly recommend for a special meal when you visit the area...
