Comfortable room, good clean facilities, shower and selection of bathroom products, with interesting view over the station. Friendly helpful staff with suggestions where to go etc. Super breakfast on the two mornings, good quality selection and nicely cooked, friendly, chatty, morning staff and chefs. Didn't eat here in the evening this time, (but had a few nice pints) as had...

Terrible service from staff made me leave and cancelling order. Such a shame but poor service is inexcusable. Great location but that is about the only reason to visit. Parking is a real issue but rail station adjacent.

Stayed here for one night, the room was clean, spacious and nicely appointed with a boutique style shower room. Has good wifi. Wide choice of breakfast items. Location was tricky to find in a cul de sac by the station and parking was on street but the hotel had done everything possible to make it easy for their guests with...

Ate lunch here. The food was good. You pay at the bar when you order at the counter. The steak and ale was very good. My friends gammon was good. What was outstanding was the service of allowing us to park our big suitcases that we brought from Harrogate on way to York. We stopped at the station on the...

We spent two nights here at the end of October and were so impressed with the Mitre both as a hotel and pub. Room 1 was spacious, well equipped and fitted out to a high standard. The bathroom was large with an excellent shower. Lots of thoughtful extras throughout, including an iron & ironing board in the wardrobe. We had...

We took Sunday lunch with our children and grandchildren and were not disappointed. We enjoyed a real British roast dinner with all the trimmings followed by delicious deserts all served by a delightful hostess.

Delicious food to be had- pie of the day, haddock and chips and,my own consumption, daube of beef . All throughly enjoyable, not a scrap left. (However this also was due to us waiting three quarters of an hour for our food to arrive. ) it has to be said there was an entire coven of witches in the bar and...

4 couples booked for Saturday night when we were visiting Knaresborough for a party. We all arrived together, paid our bills and waited for the rooms to be ready. After a short wait we were advised that there was a problem with overbooking and 1 of the couples could not be accommodated. This despite the fact we all had received...

Travelled to Knaresborough by train. Fantastic location, literally 15 yds from the station,250 yds from the river downhill, 250 yds to Town Square uphill...perfect. Hotel superb. Some of the friendliest & helpful staff we have come accross. Food in hotel very good and spotlessly clean. In room No. 1, which was really roomy with a view onto the train station....

We had had a room booked here for ages, upon recommendations from TA reviewers, and we couldn’t wait to get there. When we arrived at around noon on Saturday lunchtime the place was packed with cars parked knee deep everywhere and we assumed we were really going to struggle to get a space, but no, a quick chat to the...
