This was the absolute ideal place to relax and get our festive season off to a great start. We had booked the foodie break and a 2 night stay and were both equally as impressed with the food and the accommodation. The staff were very helpful and informative at our check in and we were made to feel welcome and...

Had a two night stay here last weekend for a family wedding. The accommodation was great, one of the finest places we have stayed, and the staff were first class, always had a smile as if they really didn't mind helping and nothing was a problem. The wheelhouse for eating was like no were I have dinned before. Stunning location...

We had an overnight stay here in conjunction with dinner at the Star Inn across the road. After doing my research, I was really looking forward to the stay until I read some of the recent reviews, especially regarding Room 6 which I had chosen after much deliberation. However, we really enjoyed our stay. I found our room to be...

We came to stay for one night and had high expectations of the place as it seems so well reviewed. We were allocated room 6, which is on the ground floor right next to the Wheel House and overlooking the car park. The room was so dark and hot, it only had one window which was open but we had...

I was only going to give three stars however the service and friendliness from both housekeeping, breakfast staff and reception is so good I feel I've got to give a 4th star. We were booked on The Star Inn's gourmet package. This gives two nights accommodation; their tasting menu for the first dinner and a choice from the a la...

This is another time i'd love to have half marks to give on tripadvisor. Unfortunately the Cross House Lodge would be getting 3.5 from me. This is a lovely hotel, in a fantastic setting, with some pleasant and helpful staff. The welcome is genuine, and first impressions are good. Unfortunately, there are far too many niggles which shouldn't happen in...

An obvious choice for the Star Inn as it's just across the road, but this lovely little hotel has a character all of its own. A really warm welcome set the scene for our stay, with cakes available and a honesty bar should the short step to the Star Inn prove to be too far for a pre dinner drink!...

We stayed in Room 2 and it was lovely. It was so comfortable, it was decorated perfectly and the bed was very comfortable. The whole place really complemented The Star Inn very well. The breakfast was fantastic, the big round table was a really good feature and we all chatted about the meals we had the night before and the...

This is our 6th stay with the star, and our 2nd stay in room 5. We feel so at home in this room, very spacious, with a huge comfy bed, beautiful view over fields, often of barn owls hunting. Lovey welcome tray, with crisps ,chocolate and proper coffee. The bathroom is relaxing with mini bottles of molten brown, the staff are always lovely.even...

We had a room in seperate building across the courtyard. The room itself was spacious and well laid out. There was a communal area that offered space to sit and have a drink via the honesty bar. Breakfast was severed with everyone sat around one large table. There was a good available however the quality was disappointing. The sausage were...
