I had been looking forward to visiting The Pheasant for my friends special 50th birthday since we booked in October. I rang 2 days prior to organise a balloon and a birthday pudding as a surprise and I was told this would be sorted. When checking in I mentioned it again and stressed it would need to be gluten free,...

Stayed for a quiet Sunday night as a couple. Very friendly. Nice comfortable room, but the bath isn't the largest. Also we couldn't use the TV as the remote was missing. It never turned up despite asking just after checking in. Still, watching the news wasn't really at the top of our list of priorities. Dinner was very fine indeed....

Lovely location, v small car park - let them know if you need help with wheelchair etc. Very pretty building and entrance. Two options - the conservatory, which can be noisy, or the main dining room which is comfortable and welcoming. Service is gentle and unobtrusive, food is delicious but the vegetables could do with a bit of a review...

We chose the Pheasant for a dinner to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. It was an inspired choice. I has forgotten that I had mentioned it was our anniversary when I booked and we were surprised delighted to be greeted with a complimentary drink on arrival. The atmosphere, food and service were exemplary. We would definitely recommend this as a...

Just had 2 nights here for our 10 year anniversary and it was great. Lovely staff. Delicious food and really nice rooms. We stayed in the family room the mallard and it was more like an apartment than a room. 2 bedrooms and a sitting room/dining room/kitchen. Our 5 yr old daughter absolutely loved the swimming pool. She wanted us...

We have stayed at The Star in Harome before and had a wonderful experience so we were very keen to try The Pheasant. We were not disappointed what a beautiful place. Everything about the hotel and the service was faultless. We stayed in Plum Cottage which was beautiful and had a private terrace. We ate in the restaurant and the...

We have stayed here several times before and keep wanting to come back for more. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Uniquely, you get a complimentary tot of sloe gin in your room and in the fridge is a pint of fresh milk (yes- fresh milk for your tea or coffee and none of those silly UHT cartons) ....

I've stayed here a few times with my family and each time it has been lovely. The breakfast is amazing! The fresh pastries are simply divine and the eggs Benedict are gorgeous. The best breakfast I've had in a hotel by far!! The restaurant is lovely. Great food and lovely service. My only slight thought is that, whilst it allows...

Have visited The Pheasant Hotel twice now, both times in the Winter. The first time my mum and i had soup (delicious) and the hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas (so so cosy), the second time we both had the afternoon tea. The food on both occasions has been beautifully presented and feels really special. Each time we've visited we...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Pheasant has arguably one of the most beautiful Country Hotel settings in North Yorkshire, over looking the duck pond in the picturesque village of Harome. Originally converted from what had been the blacksmith's shop, village shop and barns, the main part of the hotel offers one single and eleven double rooms, whilst in the sheltered courtyard are two suites, the Pheasant Suite and Plum Cottage, each with its own private entrance, two further family rooms which each have two bedrooms and the heated indoor swimming pool. The stylish and highly individual interiors - designed by Director Jacquie Pern - give the accommodation a homely and welcome feel, which continues throughout the public areas: the lounge, bar, conservatory, dining room and terrace, providing a variety of options of where to eat or enjoy a drink. The Pheasant has established a reputation for great food under the capable hands of Chef/Director Peter Neville. Residents and non-residents can choose from a wide range of menus, all taking advantage of the wealth of local, seasonal produce, including a fixed price daily Market Menu, the A la Carte, and a Tasting Menu with optional matched wine package. The Pheasant has been awarded Welcome to Yorkshire's "Small Hotel of the Year 2016". In 2014 The Pheasant was awarded the Yorkshire Life "Small but Special Accommodation" Award. The Hotel has recently been awarded Three AA Red Stars Inspectors' Choice Country House Hotel. Seasonal and special breaks are available throughout the year. ... more   less
