Wonderful village with a very special hotel. We visited with friends after finding it through the internet. The weather was not to good but that did not spoil our visit. The rooms were wonderful and the service too. Special mention for the food. We shall defiantly be going back soon.

We were desperate for a cuppa and went in on the off chance. Imagine walking into one of those large houses from some period drama or Midsomer Murders. We were met by a smartly dressed member of staff who did not bat an eyelid when I just asked for a cup of tea. She showed us into what could have...

We have just returned from a night's DBB at the Pheasant for the second time. Everything was delightful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was pleasant, overlooking the pond. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. Sleep was disturbed only by a noisy cockerel at 4am and then some vocal ducks but that is part of the charm....

Went to The Pheasant in June, having eaten at The Star many times. We took a friend for a special birthday meal, and were treated wonderfully - complimentary glass of fizz arrived as we were seated at the table, and every course from the amuse bouche to the cheese trolley (marvellous!) was spot on. Young European staff all very knowledgeable...

Spent 3 nights here with my wife in the Plum Cottage. The grounds, food, drinks and the pool are amazing. The restaurant is only small but that makes for a very intimate meal. Easily one of the best short breaks you will ever go on

We were greeted with a warm welcome and assistance, having arrived early for a wedding at the Star Inn. The staff looked after our bags and delivered same to our room whilst we were at the wedding. Excellent breakfast in the conservatory made for a great overnight stay.

What a delight this hotel is in every way. Staff were delightful so friendly and helpful it reall was a case of nothing was too much trouble. Stayed one night in Plum cottage and loved every bit about it. Slight criticism is that the outdoor furniture is tired looking and could do to be replaced. Lovely swimming pool which we...

This is a proper good old-fashioned English Country Hotel. The staff are all very attentive and nothing appears to be too much trouble. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean and a good night's sleep ensued. Dinner was VERY good. Whoever is in the kitchen knows what they were doing and the awards that have been received seem well...

Lovely soft cushioned sitting rooms for pre and post meal drinks. The dining room is very comfortable too, with comfy armchairs and well spaced tables. Perfect hot & cold amuse bouche and assortment of breads were very good. Hot roasted fresh foie gras and a cold timbale of pressed chicken served on a bed of toast as a starter, was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Pheasant has arguably one of the most beautiful Country Hotel settings in North Yorkshire, over looking the duck pond in the picturesque village of Harome. Originally converted from what had been the blacksmith's shop, village shop and barns, the main part of the hotel offers one single and eleven double rooms, whilst in the sheltered courtyard are two suites, the Pheasant Suite and Plum Cottage, each with its own private entrance, two further family rooms which each have two bedrooms and the heated indoor swimming pool. The stylish and highly individual interiors - designed by Director Jacquie Pern - give the accommodation a homely and welcome feel, which continues throughout the public areas: the lounge, bar, conservatory, dining room and terrace, providing a variety of options of where to eat or enjoy a drink. The Pheasant has established a reputation for great food under the capable hands of Chef/Director Peter Neville. Residents and non-residents can choose from a wide range of menus, all taking advantage of the wealth of local, seasonal produce, including a fixed price daily Market Menu, the A la Carte, and a Tasting Menu with optional matched wine package. The Pheasant has been awarded Welcome to Yorkshire's "Small Hotel of the Year 2016". In 2014 The Pheasant was awarded the Yorkshire Life "Small but Special Accommodation" Award. The Hotel has recently been awarded Three AA Red Stars Inspectors' Choice Country House Hotel. Seasonal and special breaks are available throughout the year. ... more   less
