Good tea and coffee facilities with fresh milk and homemade biscuits We ate dinner in the hotel both nights and had two excellent meals. Friendly and efficient service which...

booked for lunch today, sat waiting by a roaring log fire sipping Pinot Grigio being attended to very well without being intrusive. Our table was well presented and our meals arrived together and they were absolutely delicious (I could have eaten it twice!) This was our first visit to The Traddock and quite simply will not be our last, the...

Chosen almost by chance to break a trip travelling south, we had an excellent experience. Wonderful room - a bath tub in the bedroom, very comfortable and "country-luxury" style. Lovely cream tea and delicious dinner. Friendly, helpful staff. Noise from plumbing or something in the night was the only thing that was a problem.

My Husband and I stayed here with our labrador for 2 nights. It is wonderful. On arrival my Husband went to check in and someone came out and helped take our bags up to the room (No.11). We were then given a quick tour of the hotel and told about the facilities available. The staff here are excellent. Every single...

We absolutely love the Traddock. It is a charming and ancient old house with authentic charm. The rooms are individual and very comfortable. Furniture is consistent to the style of the house. We loved the "shabby chic" bird's-eye maple vaneer dressing table - thank goodness it is not kitted out with mass-produced furniture-by-numbers beloved of chain hotels. The restaurant was...

Not sure about here: Pros: Good setting, friendly young staff employed, log fires, breakfast Cons: Soft bed, noisy plumbing (woken at 11.45 pm and 6.10 am), inconsistent staff Food: Bit pretentious: i.e. wine list quotes a bottle of Italian as cheaper than in London - should hope so ... at least in London it would be served at right temp,...

We started here over Valentines Weekend and it was excellent, even nicer than I had envisaged. We stayed in Room 1 (Kickers Ghyll) which is lovely, I especially loved the huge roll top bath. We ate in the restaurant both nights as it was included in our Valentines Weekend rate, and the food was excellent both nights. Not pretentious which...

My husband found this wonderful establishment quite by chance and what an absolute gem. We had a two night stay here a couple of weeks ago to recharge our batteries and to "do" the Settle to Carlisle railway. I had envisaged staying in a country pub but the hubby really excelled himself yet again. Just when I think he can't...
