Have stayed at this hotel this last September and the September previous and have been very satisfied with both the rooms we have had and the attitude of all the staff members . The staff have been very friendly each time we have been there and very helpful . We understand that the hotel is a grade 2 monument and...

I stayed here for a couple of days with family to attend a christening in a nearby village. We booked this hotel due to location convenience and after reading the reviews wondered if we'd made the right decision.. Turns out we totally had!!! The hotel although slightly dated in appearance and probably in need of a touch of love or...

An old Listed building that needs modernisation but very friendly. The rooms were large, breakfast was good and it had a large bar. It had a magnificent staircase and the place was very clean. It does not do Evening Meals. Located 2 minutes from the Town Centre. The adjacent car park is huge but you need to get a free...

Built in a time, mid 1800 when Ashby was a spa town with a new railway station to bring visitors. The spa building long gone and so have the visitors. The hotel is grade 2 listed, so my sympathy is with the current owner. The place needs major investment to restore it to its forma glory. However at 35 rooms...

Didn't choose to stay here but as the only place in town with availability it was thrust upon us. At £60 including breakfast I wasn't expecting and on arrival it was clear this hotel hadn't seen any royalty for quite some time nor alas a painter and decorator. To put it politely this hotel is a little 'down at the...

I entirely agree with the comments made by Vigax. "The hotel that time forgot". Firstly disappointed that in the middle of the day a bar lunch could not be had in a hotel. Secondlyy the rooms were antiquated and badly in need of a spruce up. I was there for an evening meeting and if I could have booked somewhere...

Crikey... Booked for one night business trip as the business was close by. Extremely dated, tired and desperately needs a refurb. The place is ancient, not dirty but seriously not seen a hotel in this shape before. Car park is pay and display but you get a card to display from reception. Breakfast was poor, luke warm and cold cooked...
