this hotel is clean and tidy , warm and contemporary, fantastic value for money, (£58 for 2 of us) we especially liked the fact that breakfast was not included so that you could choose whether to have it or not, we wanted to get on the road early

Staying one night for a wedding at a nearby venue. Arrived late and were greeted by a very friendly and helpful man on reception who checked us in quickly and showed us to our room. The room was very large with a big, comfortable bed. Tea & coffee facilities available and a good sized bathroom. The room was very comfortable...

Good boutique hotel set on the edge of a secured exclusive housing estate and next to and overlooking Blackburn Rovers senior training complex. The arrival greeting was excellent and I was shown to my room and everything explained in full. The room overlooked Rover's training ground. Whilst I only saw a few members of staff they were all courteous and...

We booked into the Avenue Hotel the night before our daughter got married at a local venue. We had booked 5 rooms for ourselves, our daughter and her 7 bridesmaids. All the rooms were great but our daughter got a suite. What a fantastic room! So spacious the Bride and Bridesmaids were all able to easily fit in to practice...

Booked last minute for a relaxing night away with my husband. Friendly receptionist who showed us to a very lovely spacious room with a good sized bathroom. It was a relaxing environment and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Our meal was very good and reasonably priced. Overall a lovely experience and we would definitely go back.

This hotel had an odd location: it was accessed through a guarded gate as part of a gated housing estate, set next to a football training ground. But this wasn't a problem. The hotel was very clean when I stayed and the staff both helpful and pleasant. The only negative was the need to drive to most places, though there...

Don't trust this hotel with online bookings!!! Booked 3 rooms at this hotel in August 2015 for Friday 29 July and Saturday 30 July 2016 as my son was getting married in a village nearby. Phoned The Avenue to check the booking on Wednesday 27 July and the hotel confirmed everything was ok. On Friday morning, Dennis, the hotel manager,...

We had a booking for a twin room and a family room here that we placed three months ago. Despite this, and the fact I'd spoken to the hotel twice that week, including the morning before we travelled, they called me to inform us that they couldn't accommodate us. They'd booked us into another hotel and it took two angry...
