My partner and I booked to stay here for a mini break for two nights. We found the location ideal for exploring the Lake District, the Dales and the Forest of Bowland. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, the rooms were spotless and decorated in a very 'vintage' style. We had a huge bathroom with roll top bath a separate...

But the quality of the rooms does not compensate for the poor management and maintenance The website is very much in need of updating, things have changed since the last update Maybe the main problem is that the Castle Inn is up for sale

What a pleasant surprise - a lovely area with a stunning place to eat. The service was lovely - the girls very attentive and helpful with choices of food and drinks. The food was prompt and hot. Lovely homemade - meat and potato pie top draw!!! Will be returning!!!!!

We stayed at the castle inn for my bussines, but also pleasure as the area is beautiful! Stayed in room 5 on the top floor, very well thought out room , the young man that showed us to the room gave us the wi fi code, which I needed for work. We had a lovely meal in the evening, the...

Booked this place on the recommendation of a local but not sure they have ever stayed there. The positives were that it had nice decor, comfy and quiet rooms, and decent dinner and lunch food. Sadly these were overpowered by a few negatives: 1) Hairs found throughout the bathroom meaning we didn't use what would otherwise have been a lovely...

Just got back from our third visit to the Castle Inn and have enjoyed every minute of our stay. As I have reported in the past the hotel is outstanding and the friendly reception can`t be bettered. Jayne and her family certainly deserve all the fantastic reviews on Tripadvisor.

Stayed here last night for anniversary and birthday present to ourselves, we had a table for 6 as family came for tea, the food was exceptional , along with the service. Our room was to die for, the top room , all very French and luxurious , cannot fault it, and to top it all we were spellbound by Spanish...

What a lovely place to stay. Beautifully decorated - attention to detail was right on. Friendly staff - couldn't do enough to help - in fact on the day of arrival - we went to visit family and arrived back after the kitchen had closed ! Jayne saved our bacon, by rustling up two deliciious home made pizzas - yummy....

We stayed at the Castle Inn for one night last week on our way home from Grange over Sands. It had been many years since we had been to this area but did remember that the trough of Bowland is a beautiful place. The owner of the Castle Inn Jayne has really nice customer skills. She is friendly, proffessional and obviously...

My partner and I stayed on a Living Social one night break. On arrival we were checked into a beautiful room, boasting a huge copper bath and a massive bed. The room was spotless and complete with a proper hairdryer, not one of those fixed to the wall contraptions that barely could blow out a candle much less dry hair!...
