    Great Value For Money

    Stayed whilst visiting a local music festival. Lovely clean room, fantastic breakfast and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and stay again as hotel is handy for visiting nearby places such as Manchester or Blackpool.More

    Quiet and quaint

    Nice traditional hotel in a quiet location .spacious clean bedroom.Staff very attentive .Good value overall. Breakfast was good and staff were very attentive local area had some good quality Indian restaurants

    Lovely 2nd visit

    lovely second visit to Whitehall hotel beautiful rooms large and spacious and clean bathroom is huge with jacuzzi bath loved it breakfast is good aswell highly recommend will return again Desserts are a must absolutely beaut

    I have been looking at your hotel as a potential venue, however my concern seen by my partner to a recent reviews about poor service where of no great concerns given peoples differing opinions. However my one major area of concern is with your apparent substandard food hygiene rating as identified on ratings.food.gov.uk/business/en-GB/212113/Whitehall-Hotel-Darwen by the local council The site rates your establishment as a 2 – Improvement necessary at the date of inspection on the 03 August 2016 Area inspected by food safety officer Standards found Hygienic food handling - Hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage - Generally satisfactory Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building - Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building (including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control) to enable good food hygiene - Improvement necessary Management of food safety - System or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future. -Generally satisfactory What can you do as a potential visitor to alleviate my concerns of not becoming ill due to your poor food preparation standards especially around the Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building which was reported as “Improvement necessary”? Can you advise of why such a highly rated venue would achieve such a low score? Can you confirm what improvements you have made? Can you ensure your food preparation is of a standard rather than of a dodgy back street café or take-away?
