Last Sunday was my 50th birthday and my husband booked for 10 of us to have the 3-course Sunday lunch menu at the Astley Bank Hotel. It did not disappoint! We all enjoyed every minute of our delicious lunches from start to finish and the empty plates at the end of each course spoke volumes! Not only that but the...

We were here for a wedding and the venue is brilliant for that. The food was great, service excellent and staff helpful. There were enough staff so you were not hanging around at the bar. The choice at breakfast was plenty and the evening menu was also good

Following our successful Golden Wedding August 20th we were delighted to receive an invitation from old friends Pat and Terry for their anniversary party at this highly rated restaurant. We met before 3.00pm for drinks in a private lounge where we studied a very impressive menu and after careful consideration my wife and I selected smoked mackerel pate and chicken...

This country house hotel is in a great location and the building is outwardly impressive. But where's the attention to detail? In our £83 room the shower leaked all over the floor, there was only one towel for two of us, the net curtains were ripped in several places, the window safety-catch was broken and the wallpaper was peeling away....

Arriving on a Friday evening for a Saturday Wedding and leaving on Sunday, we had a lovely weekend. The hotel staff were friendly, efficient and organised. Astley Bank is a well run, quite unique country hose style hotel. Certain dinner menu choices were interesting with an almost English breakfast fusion aspect (black pudding and hash browns with loin of lamb)...

My daughter and son-in-law held their wedding at Astley Bank Hotel last week and everything about the weekend was perfect! The staff, without exception, are helpful and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well appointed. The food is amazing, especially the wedding breakfast. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. I would not hesitate...

Peaceful setting in lovely grounds. Staff are very accommodating as I was late on arriving. Meal was fantastic both nights I was there. Phoned ahead to order my meal on second night . Rooms comfortable and clean and had a lovely view from my widow.

Attended a family wedding mid September and stayed Friday and Saturday night. We arrived late on the Friday after a long 9 hour journey but received a very warm welcome from the staff that greeted us. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and I really can't fault them. The food was amazing from the breakfast which included just...

Visited the restaurant on a Thursday evening for dinner. Beautiful location and grounds. Welcomed at reception and the service throughout was very friendly. Our order was taken as we had a few drinks in the bar area before being taken over to our table. The starters were delicious - would certainly recommend the pâté. Slight confusion for the mains when...

I love being here. The old house is like stepping back in time. The staff can't do enough for you, the restaurant is a must and the wine list is fabulous. The rooms are luxurious, not at all like the horrid modern hotels and have some spectacular views. Escape for a couple of day and feel totally pampered. We loved...
