Went for a pre Christmas meal with a group of friends and the property is really nice, a lovely setting. Unfortunately the service associated with e Greeting when we arrived, the service in the bar before being shown to the table and the service at the table were disappointing. Example, on arrival we were simply told the table isn't ready...

Our friends held their wedding here and I have to say it was a spectacular venue. It is a beautiful 15th century building with huge fireplaces and as the wedding was in December, they were very welcome. Xmas decs superb with a 30foot tree in the reception hall. The wedding was very well run by the staff, few delays. The...

Disappointed with our suite. Lighting poor, badly designed, I,e, socket too far from mirror,no tissues, no telephone. Gorgeous big bed and very helpful and courteous staff. Breakfast very disappointing. Sent eggs benedict back as I had asked for hard eggs and they oozed. Secondmorning was equally poor. Full English was served to me whilst I was still eating cereal. It...

This was the first time I've visited Mitton Hall and it hopefully won't be the last. I was here for two of my best friends' wedding and from start to finish it was perfect. The venue staff were fantastic throughout and made sure everything was in place for the bride & groom. The food was top notch! The potato and...

I can not believe this place is on our doorstep and I have never visited before today. Just called in for an off chance Sunday lunch and, my what a treat. The whole dining experience was outstanding, staff were warm, friendly and not at all stuffy. The building, grounds and views from the windows and gardens are a treat on...

Receptionist was lovely - very attentive, but they had not made a note if my requirements for no feathers and the bedroom cushions were stuffed with feather filling (why do they EVER use feathers - so unhygienic - they can't be laundered). The room was OK but bakingly hot - so much so they sent up a bottle of iced...

Invited for meeting at this wonderland - you are automatically transported into a place that will leave you flabbergasted. The main entrance greets you with the pleasant noise of the fireplace, croaking burning wood enhancing the atmosphere. The meal was exquisite...hats off to the chef!! Sumptuous and on point !!

I was recently treated to afternoon tea by my food and travel writer niece Renate Ruge. The tea was delicious and I was enchanted by the Hall as its magnificent. I will be looking forwards to further visits.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A four star country house hotel providing luxury accommodation at the heart of the fabulous Ribble Valley. Our big idea for bringing this magnificent 15th Century manor house back to life was to take it back to its roots and make it feel like a home again. Somewhere that looks and feels like it belongs to somebody. Stunning interior design and decoration perfectly complement the ancient architectural features to create a contemporary country house hotel. Both effortlessly beautiful and unashamedly romantic. The ambience is quite unique. It is certainly luxurious and feels exclusive but the luxury and exclusivity are open to all. From a relaxing morning coffee or afternoon tea, to lunch or dinner and for everything in between. ... more   less
