The London Beach Country Hotel, Spa & Golf Club draws guests with its well-maintained cleanliness and friendly staff, who provide quality service, particularly at the spa. Travelers enjoy the comfortable and spacious rooms with scenic golf course views, though some suggest these could benefit from modernization. While the hotel's atmosphere and amenities are generally appreciated, there are calls for updates to keep the decor and conveniences fresh. The golf packages are seen as good value, yet some guests feel unexpected charges detract from the overall experience.

The hotel is open again after lockdown for Coronavirus, albeit in a limited capacity. We were delighted to return for a couple of days r & r with our boxer dog.
The restaurant has not opened yet, but we had an excellent lunch at Chequers on the Green a couple of miles up the road. Continental breakfast is brought to the room on a tray and was perfectly acceptable.
The bedroom door was sealed with tape to show it been disinfected. Hand gel dispensers were clearly displayed. The hotel bar was operating but, at this early stage, the choice of draught beers was limited, a huge relief to my embattled liver.
An enduring attraction to this hotel has always been the friendly staff who clearly enjoy working here and nothing has changed.
We will be back soon.

Although having played the course many times, this was the first time we had stayed for the weekend. The booking in procedure was smooth and conducted by a very pleasant young lady. The room was very large containing two double beds, large tv, safe, microwave oven, sofa and two armchairs. The bathroom had "his & her" wash basins, a washing machine and a walk in shower. Every member of staff we met during our stay were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a full range of cereals, fruit etpc. followed by cooked meals of your choice. I must say that food ordered was very well cooked. The evening meals were of the same high standard. The only 'but' was that the menu was the same every evening. I would have rated this hotel above a three star and will be going back again. .

Not as nice as our first stay back in October!
Painting going on which left strong smell in corridor
Maintenance poolside with the men in shoes ( not covered) walking backwards and forwards side of pool.
Cream tea booked for 1pm
Tea and coffee served 15 minutes before the scones which then came at 1.40 .
Jam was in one large serving dish and didn’t look very inviting so when asked if we could have the little pots ( as on our October stay) was told in not a very pleasant manner “it’s all the same” when I fact it’s not actually the pots are much sweeter and to be honest nicer!
On web page it stated afternoon teas from £7.00 when charged was £7.50 I then explained on the webpage it states £7.00 the lady then showed me on the web £7.50 I said I wasn’t prepared to argue over 50p but when I got home looked it up and it stated as I had already said £7.00 anyway sent email with screen shot of the £7.00
Reply to email was well it does not state that the £7.00 is for the cream tea!
Just think I expected a little bit of an apology but never mind .

Was a shame as I say October stay was wonderful and I would and did highly recommend it.
Not so sure this time round.

Thank you for your review of our Hotel & Spa. I am sorry you had problems on this occasion. I have investigated the issues you raised. The pool work was an emergency and was expected to take five minutes but they found that over time the saline water had corroded a screw holding the panel and there was a safety issue, this led to it taking about 45mins to fix it properly. Our maintenance people strangely forgot the rule that plastic overshoes must be worn in the pool area and have been instructed to make sure they do this in the future. I am sorry for the inconvenience this caused. The smell of paint in the corridor was unfortunate. We have just weathered 2 of the worst storms I can remember, one after the other and unfortunately the very strong winds managed to blow water under the tiles and into some of the ground floor rooms. We had to carry out maintenance immediately, and although those rooms were closed the smell of fresh paint was noticeable in the corridor of the unaffected upper floor. It is very rare for there to be a problem with the Cream Tea, I cannot explain why there was a delay and I am mystified as to why you could not have the small jam pots. We have taken steps to see that this does not happen again and will make sure that the jam in the ramekins is identical to that in the small pots. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. As to the attitude of the member of staff, I am surprised by this as our staff are frequently praised on TripAdvisor for being friendly & helpful. I am sorry about the mistake with the £7.50 as opposed to £7.00. We should have honoured the £7.00 regardless. It was in fact not the website that said £7.00 but the confirmatory letter which had the wrong price. It has now been amended thanks to your bringing it to our attention. My sincere apologies for this mistake. Kind regards Lorana Edmonds

We stayed here for 2 nights 21st-23rd May 2021. When booking we were NOT made aware that all services would be extremely limited!

The breakfast was extremely disappointing. They did not provide any hot food and it could not even be classed as a continental breakfast! We had cereals, toast, a croissant and a muffin.

Furthermore there were no room cleaning services. When we arrived back in our room at the end of the day we were extremely shocked to find that the room had not been cleaned, the bathroom shower gel and soaps and toilet rolls had not been restocked, nor had the coffee/tea making facilities been replenished!

Added to the above the room was overall very tired and dated. The bed linen was stained, the carpet threadbare in places and the furniture tatty. The bathroom had one hook on the back of the door and screw holes in the wall where the towel shelf had obviously been removed. There was not a safety mat for standing in the shower over the bath.

Lastly the spa was only open to members.

All in all a very disappointing stay, and very pricey at £300 for one couple for 2 nights.

Dear N W Freeman, Your review seems to expect the hotel to be fully functioning in pre-Covid19 times. We have just had a visit from the hotel inspector last night. She was satisfied with our Covid19 protocols and said that our letter sent out to you & other guests was very clear. Guests could see that there is no restaurant and cancel free of charge if that was a problem. It is not reasonable to expect your money back, after spending 2 nights at the hotel, because you failed to read the short and very clear letter. Our website makes it very clear that we offer only Bed & Breakfast as well as Golf Breaks at the moment. We emphasise that Tenterden has many different and excellent restaurants for our guests to enjoy. We will not reopen our main kitchen until the pandemic is over. Your room was thoroughly cleaned and disinfected for your arrival. Our cleaning staff are not allowed to enter your bedroom again until after you leave, the hotel inspector confirmed this. This is all part of the government policy to keep guests safe from the virus. The Spa is only available to Health Club members as we are limited in numbers allowed in the pool area due to social distancing and are having to use a booking system to only allow 6 people in the pool at a time. Had you raised the issue of restocking the tea & coffee our staff would have been pleased to help. From now on we will arrange for coffee & tea refills to be available at reception.

My husband and I stayed for a 1 night spa break for our wedding anniversary, in between Christmas and New year and we had a lovely stay. The room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the golf course.

The swimming pool and spa area were great. Due to covid we had to book slots to use the steam room and sauna, sharing this with golf club members, but we practically had the area to ourselves from 5pm to 7pm when it closed. We had amazing service from Joanna in the spa who, on finding out it was our wedding anniversary, arranged a bottle of fizz for us free of charge. She couldn't do enough to help, getting us takeaway menus (the kitchen isn't currently open for evening meals during the week) and booking massages for us for the following morning.

We also had great service from the member of staff at reception in the evening. He arranged for a bottle of wine in an ice bucket to be sent to our room and also delivered our takeaway when it arrived with plates and cutlery.

The breakfast was very tasty, we opted for muffins, croissants and a fruit salad which we enjoyed.

I had an amazing back massage before we left in the beauty area leaving me feeling ultra relaxed.

A very enjoyable relaxing stay, we would definitely come again.

My brother-in-law booked two Executive Double Rooms at this hotel, being the only accommodation available in Tenterden for our family reunion weekend. At £240 per night we felt it expensive but, in view of the Hotel and Spar website advertising 5 star luxury, we decided to treat ourselves. We couldn't have been more wrong! It transpired that we had been charged, in advance of our arrival, an extra £80 per night above the normal rate of £160, because of the Open Golf taking place some 44 miles away. The staff were very friendly but our rooms were tired and disappointing with stains on the ceiling, torn curtains, filthy balconies with cobwebs, cigarette ends and peeling paint, sink plugs that didn't work and had hairs on them, no hairdryers in the rooms or the fridge and other luxuries you would expect from a hotel charging £240 per night. Even though the Spa was closed due to Covid there was still an extra charge of £25 per head had we been able to use it and no cooked breakfast despite other hotels providing this. Our continental breakfast was served in the restaurant where there were dead flies on the window sills etc. We have taken photographs ad our complaints have not been addressed. We have both sent copies of our complaints to the hotel by email but they have failed to acknowledge or respond to them. We are very angry and feel we are owed some compensation. Would not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel.

I really enjoyed staying at the hotel. The rooms are well equipped and in good condition and each room has a huge balcony with stunning views over a golf course and woodland. Quite and peaceful! Highly recommended for the exploration of the local area. The nearby town is beautiful and you can ride a steam train to Bodiam castle

Thank you very much for your good review of our hotel. The views are lovely from the balconies and it is wonderful to be in the countryside. I hope you were able to ride the steam train from Tenterden to Bodiam castle. It is a great experience. There are many places of interest in this corner of the UK, from castles to gardens, vineyards producing our excellent English wines and country houses as well as the wonderful Camber sands & other beaches in the area. And of course the retail outlet in Ashford, Lots to see and do. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards Lorana Edmonds

stayed w/e 22May. Unfortunately there were none of the regular Services due to covid restrictions. We have stayed several times before and have always found the staff very pleasant and helpful, same this time and they were very apologetic about the lack of food and cleaning. We were advised before hand that we could bring our own food in and they would heat it up, or have a delivery takeaway. they also said that if we needed anything replenished in the room they would provide it, and they did. I think that they did the best that they could in the circumstances but I feel a reduction in price would have been welcome to compensate for the lack of services.

Recently stayed here as a little getaway and pamper for myself and my girlfriend.
Deliberately arrived a couple of hours earlier than check in time so we could relax in the pool/jacuzzi before unpacking only to be told that to use the spa facilities it was an extra £25.00 per person!

I (later) understood that on booking.com it states that these are ‘extras’ and the receptionist explained that several guests make the same mistake.

Now if that’s the case, surely advertising it as a hotel AND spa is misleading and I’m not the only one that was misled. Surely this is easily rectified.

Other than the pleasant Italian bar man it was a total letdown.

Disappointed.
