The hotel is in a great location to access Margate, being a lovely walk along the seafront to access this up and coming town. Great views of the sea from the lounge and restaurant. The restaurant was bright, clean and provided a comprehensive breakfast, (with the ingredients being locally sourced, which is a nice touch), catering for all appetites with...

We stayed here as an emergency stop over. Though the decor is dated , the staff are very freindly and helpful. The breakfast is fantastic, I had the Full English and didn't eat again till dinner. The bed was comfortable and the hotel a short distance from the seafront.

Made a reservation for this hotel over a year ago for a family wedding. Arrived and booked in which all went smoothly and my daughter and I took the lift to our room ( scary lift ). Was disappointed with the room with what we were paying as it was a sea front room. My daughter went to make a...

Stayed here just one night on sat 8th which happened to be a weekend we had glorious sunshine which was very lucky. There are many plus points to this hotel including the free on street parking, our room number 8 had a very soft comfy bed and the breakfast was very good. Some of the decor could do with refreshing...

Stayed at the hotel the night before the wedding in a beautifully newly decorated room, it was so nice and the bathroom was outstanding! The day of the wedding held here could not have gone any better, the food was great and the staff were fantastic. I would recommend this hotel for a wedding or for a short stay!

Very lucky to have sent a sunny 4 days in Margate. Had a very pleasant stay. Staff on reception and dining room excellent, except one on reception and i'm sure she knows who she is. The breakfast and dinner was good with plenty of choice. Our room was probably not the best in the hotel. Not small but only one...

We stayed at the Smiths Court Hotel this weekend quite by accident and it was great and is just outside of Margate in a quiet location opposite the Sea. We were going to take our dog and at the last minute we found a sitter. The hotel owner offered us different rooms if we wanted but in the end we...

The hotel was quite nice but our breakfast wasn't. My wife had scrambled egg with her breakfast which was over dosed with salt and inedible. Another guest complained about an out of date yoghurt- the waitress was told but didn't check the rest of them. The area of Margate it is in is run down.

First impressions are suppose to be the ones that count but this hasn't obviously trickled through to the reception staff who I think may be the owners. The lady needs a personality transplant that should include a smile ! The hotel is an old Victorian property that has been 'modernised' for todays use. The best aspect is the wifi that...

Was her for very formal evening function and thought it was brilliant. Loved the mix of dinning room and then party rooms. Also the foyer was perfect for relaxing with a drink and chatting to friends. A very well balanced venue. Prices good at the bar. Pianist was excellent, and his dog was ever so friendly.
