My family and I recently celebrated my father's 90th birthday with afternoon tea at The Walpole Bay Hotel. It was an amazing occasion and was thoroughly enjoyed by the entire party which was made up of all ages from twin 2 year olds to the guest of honour. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was plentiful,...

Attended a Birthday tea party there today for a 95 year old in a wheelchair. The staff were friendly, the tea was good but the facilities for anyone disabled were minimal. The ladies was on the first floor and the lift was not big enough for the wheelchair. There are steps at the entrance to the hotel and ramps were...

Our stay at the Walpole was wonderful. Such an enchanting place, so much to see around the hotel, lovely sea views, charming and cosy bedrooms. The staff were very attentive and helpful throughout. The perfect place to stay when visiting Margate and environs.

I was looking through google for dog friendly hotels for a spur of the moment night away. I saw the Walpole and remember visiting it for a drink about 17 years ago and saying that i would like to stay overnight one day. So, called them, booked it, very pleasant girl on the phone. The second we were in the...

I always wanted to go after watching the Hotel Inspector. It did not disappoint and I am so pleased that Jane did not take much notice of Alex, even the hornet's nest is still there. We stayed four nights and enjoyed every minute. Fortunately we did not fall out of bed as was a long way from the floor. Despite...

We recently had our wedding reception here, and it was first class. We then stayed in the charming bridal suite, everyone was so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend unhesitatingly. Thanks to James and all the staff, we had a fantastic time.

Certainly not your usual hotel experience. This is a hotel full of character and charm with all manner of museum artefacts at every turn. This is the third time we have stayed here and would recommend to anyone. Rooms are always clean and comfortable if a little past their best, but this only adds to the charm of the place.

Stayed at this place for one night. Absolutely brilliant place. Very very quirky and oozing character. The museum on the second floor is quite breathtakingly odd and off the wall. Room was large and light and the bed really comfortable. Nice furnishings, a red chaise long gave it real character and it is just the opposite of the usual soulless...

Wonderful time, went on a 3 for 2 night special which included both a jazz supper evening and a murder mystery event. (great fun). We had a gorgeous room with a lounge and a balcony with sea view. Great even in February. The Hotel is brilliant, with its display of original art work consisting of framed linen napkins painted by...

Have not stayed at the hotel but visited for a cream tea and to see the museum. Entering the hotel is like stepping back in time to a more genteel era. Warm atmosphere and very friendly staff on reception. You are free to wander the corridors to view the many interesting exhibits on display. The display of decorated napkins are...
