We hired out some rooms for the night of our wedding. We provided our card details so that if rooms were not used we could be charged. Over a week before our wedding I phoned to cancel some of the rooms as they were not being used. I spoke to a lovely lady who informed me they had been cancelled...

We are a small establishment with a small core of loyal, hardworking staff. None of my staff received a call from this lady cancelling any rooms. These rooms were booked back in the beginning of October 2016 when cancellation terms were clearly explained. As there was no attempt to cancel these rooms a charge was accordingly made. Its interesting that it...

Spent 1 night here, it's a little tired in places and the saniflow toilets are a bit noisy but despite that we had a really nice stay. The dinner was lovely and we enjoyed the breakfast. The four poster bed was really comfy and we both had a great nights sleep. Will stay there again.

We had a one night stop at the Castle, the place was really dog friendly with a great atmosphere.. The staff were welcoming, the breakfast was good and the room was spacious, clean and tidy but dated.

Friendly welcome throughout, food not great but not expensive either we had scampi that that was very over cooked. Limited choice at breakfast, cereal toast and full Engish only options. Rooms are basic but satisfactory but also need a proper clean, dirt/dust along skirting boards.

Possibly the most frustrating visit ever. The staff are genuinely lovely, they care. However the owners obviously don't have that attention to detail. Dirty room, lack of investment, a rear fire exit filled with junk. This could, and should, be an amazing place to visit, they've got the hard bit right, finding staff that care, they've got the easy bit...

The 'junk' was the result of a complete refurbishment of the dining room ( new floor etc), unfortunately there is a waiting time for a skip in this area. Any way it's here now and 'junk' is gone!! I am so pleased you liked my staff.

My finance bought me this weekend away on a Groupon deal for my birthday. It was amazing value and the food was delicious. The four poster bed was a lovely surprise and although the plumbing is noisy, we actually found it quite quirky. This is an old building with tons of character, very friendly staff in a great location. If...

No its not a "Castle" but a lovely village hostelry, offering a hearty and perfectly cooked supper, bed and cooked to order, breakfast, to those looking to relax in a traditional village. Saltwood, sits undiscovered, away from busy roads and yet five minutes drive from the quaint coastal town of Hythe. Country pub with rooms , friendly and welcoming with the...

The staff, as I have mentioned in my review of their restaurant, are very helpful and friendly. No worries there. The b&b element of the Castle Hotel is not, in my opinion, good. First of all, when going up the stairs to our room, there was a pretty awful smell (which the staff are obviously trying to remedy, as there...

Stayed for one night with a Wowcher deal, £59 including a two course dinner and breakfast. I have separately reviewed the dinner and breakfast 5 stars. The rooms are above the main pub. We stayed in "Dover" which was overlooking the village hall, very picturesque. Old fashioned sash windows. Lovely room, clean with fresh linen, comfortable bed. The towels were...

We stayed for two nights, one night being Valentines, not that it was shown in the restaurant, no red roses or anything to suggest it w Valentines Night!! The food on both evenings was good, although the dining room was rather chilly. Our room was lovely apart from the extra put up bed ! The bathroom needed a make over...
