We called here for a drink as we had dropped our dog off for Spa day in the village and had couple of hours to fill. Old period building with fantastic views over the Weald, staff very friendly a nice place to visit.

Stopped here for lunch en route to Tenterden. Charming period building and pleasant staff. Rather apprehensively we perused the extensive menu, (rather too extensive if you included the specials as well.) We opted for a couple of baguettes which were evidently constructed of cheap bread and grated, flavourless cheese. Uninspiring. Filled a space, but dull.

Stayed for two nights this time. We were greeted by the lovely Hungarian lady who has been there for quite a while now and is always helpful and friendly. The food as usual was superb with a fantastic choice. The hotel is very old so is quaint, I have always wanted to stay in one of the bigger rooms which...

This review is pretty simple, the place is great, just go there. It's a fantastic old building. We were welcomed by a lovely lady, had a spacious, well furnished and clean room with a four poster bed. Breakfast was good. We enjoyed sitting by the fire in the bar in the evening, we were served good real ale and ate...

Just spent 3 nights in this lovely Inn/Hotel. The food/accommodation was great and overall the value seemed OK to me. It's a great location to visit various places in Kent and East Sussex. Perfect for a few days away.

My husband and I rarely get date night's having a toddler and 3 other slightly older children. We chose The Star and Eagle in Goudhurst on Friday having driven past it many times and thinking how quintessentially Englishly enchanting it looked from the outside. We'd checked the menu online and were pleasantly surprised with the choice of some rather complex...

Wonderful place to stay if you enjoy historical buildings service was excellent and food delicious. I did not even mind that someone else had the four poster room, as they are a passion of mine. My son and my husband and I shared the bathroom for rooms 6 and 7 which was nicely decorated. We would have no hesitation returning...
