Detailed Reviews
Just enjoyed a 2 night stay in this hotel and the staff there are a credit to Premier Inn. Every employee we came into contact with was pleasant, polite and very helpful. No complaints whatsoever as the hotel had everything expected for a budget range. All public areas and the bedroom were spotlessly clean, up to date and comfortable. Although breakfast is no longer self serve due to Covid it was good quality, plentiful and lots of choice. The hotel is situated adjacent to a busy road but the bedrooms must be well soundproofed because we didn't get disturbed by any noise. Free car parking is included and it's in a good location for travelling around Kent.

Stayed for 3 nights on a birthday break just before official lock down due to corona virus pandemic .We had intended to visit the Royal dock yard at Chatham which was just down the road and also the Royal Engineers museum close by . The dock yard closed the day we travelled down but managed to visit the Royal engineers museum the next day which was their last day before closing down prior to official lockdown due to the health crisis . We ended up going to Margate around 45 minutes by car but not much to see or do especially as it was out of season .
We had a standard room on the fourth floor facing the car park . We asked for a quiet room and it was . The room was clean and tidy although basic . Had tea and coffee making facilities .
A bit confused about the bar serving of an afternoon on one of the afternoons we were told we could not have a drink in the bar area and was suggested and directed to the nearby pub , but the next afternoon was able to have a drink at the hotel ? Dependent on staffing levels , who is on duty ?
There was a free adequate car park while we were staying but has mentioned already hotel not busy .
There is a Asda superstore and a pub within close walking distance .
We stayed mid week on a breakfast and evening meal per day meal deal which includes a drink with the evening meal . The hotel did not appear very busy , not sure if it was due to time of week , year or the threat of an imminent lock down .The food we had was good as was the service . They gave us a bottle of prosecco free of change to celebrate one of our birthdays which was a really nice gesture . The dining and bar area is quite small and we imagine gets crowded when hotel has a large occupancy .
The day we were leaving they were closing the kitchen that night in preparation for the official lock down . There was a family being housed there so not sure how they would get on as over the following week all bars and restaurants closed due to official lock down and there would be no facilities to have a hot meal at the hotel or eat out elsewhere . Not sure what the hotel policy is on takeaways .
Overall had an excellent stay and felt it was value for money . We intend to stay here again as we plan to try and visit the Royal dock yard and other near by attractions in the near future when there is a return to some normality after the Covid 19 crisis .

We have stayed quite regularly but this was the first visit since lockdown. Car parking easy and free.
Reservation booked by app so checking was easy. I had made a phone a couple of days earlier which secured me a top floor room overlooking the Medway. Check in was easy friendly staff who explained we could fresh towels daily as room was only cleaned between occupants because ofCovid regs.
We had two meals in the restaurant . Good choice of food despite a couple of short term supply problems.
Overall excellent value for money

There are stars in this show: the location is convenient, the staff are really friendly and helpful and we enjoyed breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Forgetting the outlook across the bin lorry depot, car park and some very ugly flats.... There are some downsides. The hotel is hermetically sealed. You cannot open the window in your room and there was no ventilation in the restaurant. A little sticker on our room there is a constant flow of fresh air. There wasn't. We were reduced to propping open our room door with a suitcase and taking a half time walk in the car park during breakfast. Beware the parking arrangements and read the notices properly both in terms of where you can park and how to register your car. We were not prompted at check on to register. Lastly I wonder how much longer hotels are going to get away with not servicing rooms on a daily basis on the grounds of 'reducing contact'?

The Premier inn Chatham/Gillingham is situated by the side of the main A289 running down into Chatham, offering great access to the many, attractions the area has to offer. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. WiFi throughout, toiletries, tea and coffee provided. Breakfast is being served as normal in the Thyme restaurant, but on a pre- booked slot basis. Evening meals are also available but as a take away, to eat in you room. The only downside to this hotel, is the noise factor, not only is the proximity to the road a plus, it does mean, it is prone to traffic noise. Then there are the noisy neighbours above stomping around at all hours. Overall a great visit, with friendly helpful staff.

I had a lovely four night stay visiting family who lived 20 minutes from the hotel. We booked a plus room which had a small bar fridge. The room fixtures and fittings looked brand new like it was just renovated. We also dined once in the hotel and had breakfast twice. The chef does a really great cooked breakfast and you can have as much as you like for £10:50 including pastries, fruit, coffee, tea etc. we really enjoyed the cooked breakfast, which even included black pudding. Everything was perfectly cooked. The staff were absolutely lovely and the manager was incredibly hard working as we saw her at dinner and breakfast and on reception. We had a small maintenance issue in our room and she got it fixed it immediately. The hotel is near a pub and an asda for buying any groceries and necessities and is a 20 minute walk from the St Mary’s island shopping outlet, cinema etc. it’s also near the dockyard and University. All round cannot fault our stay and would definitely book again. Definitely the best quality hotel in this area as we’ve tried them all.

A very clean hotel and room.
Staff were fantastic and very helpful.
Food was very nice, although all drinks come bottled from the fridge, which can prove quite expensive, couldn’t buy a pint of coke, just small bottles.
Room was nice and very clean, unfortunately the bed was to soft, which is a shame and the first time I have found this in a premier inn.
Plenty of parking.
Short walk to the quay.
Definitely recommend it.

We have stayed in a lot of accessible rooms all over the country and this one has been the best so far. Everything was well thought out in the bathroom with handrails in all the right places. The sink was at the right height and it was extremely spacious. We would highly recommend this hotel for anybody who is completely reliant on using a wheelchair. We spent each evening in the bar area and the staff were helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. A******

The hotel was easy to find with plenty of parking. Reception was empty but a staff member came over quickly. Check in was easy but staff member not overly friendly. Booking a breakfast slot seemed a hassle for the receptionist despite this being essential under covid guidelines.
When we arrived in the room it appeared clean however we started to notice issues quickly including thick black mould on bathroom ceiling and around the main window, Tea drip stains on the wall and the toilet seat was a strange pinky red stained colour.
At breakfast we were seated quickly but then ignored for over 20 minutes. When our order was taken while the staff weren’t rude they were extremely unfriendly and guests seemed an annoyance to their day.
Breakfast itself was bland and we weren’t offered any sauce or seasonings and no one checked we were okay so couldn’t get the opportunity to ask for any.
We were looking forward to this trip after life in lockdown and while it could have been worse we seem to leave disappointed.
