We were lucky to get a late reservation due to a cancellation and there is no doubt that we enjoyed one of the best meals for a long time in this exceptional restaurant. The service experienced was outstanding and our meal was succulent. The filet was just as ordered and well presented and the wines outstanding. We could not have...

Nice size gravel car park surrounded by trees. Will accommodate wheelchairs with very friendly helpful staff. Stately Manor House decor with tables generously spaced and ironed tablecloths. Food is really excellent ranging from popular to first class dining without being pretentious. They have a small number of rooms for overnight guests and are licensed for weddings. This is a really...

Despite living within walking distance we haven't been to Reads for a while so it was great to find the experience as fab as ever. Between the four of us we sampled different starters, mains and desserts from the lunch time menu and we were all more than pleased with our choices. I had the last portion clotted cream rice...

Very restful and exceptionally good service with out being in your face. Food and ambiance was excellent . Surroundings were exquisite. As I am a vegetarian I find it slightly irritating that in this day and age that the vegetarian option menu isn't given as a matter of course....I had to ask and then wait ten minutes for the vegetarian...

We have visited Read's restaurant for evening dinner at least 4 times with every visit being exceptionally good. Yesterday's visit was no different. We visited as a group of six adults of varying age and tastes. On arrival we were greeted and ushered through to the bar where we were served aperitifs. We always order the 7 course taster menu...

The booking for a one night stay was simple and easy, made direct with the hotel over the telephone and ensured we got the room we wanted. A suggestion is you may well need to book well in advance to get the room of your choice. The hotel is easy to find being on the A2 (Canterbury Road) and they...

We have had both lunch and dinner on many occasions and we also stay in one of the extremely comfortable rooms when we are there for dinner. Macknade Manor, which is what the property is called, is a beautiful Georgian Manor House, set in mature grounds, and tastefully furnished and appointed. There is a lovely restful atmosphere in which to...

We visited Reads for a birthday meal and opted to have the tasting menu. The whole experience is a taste of luxury, beginning in the lounge where you can enjoy a drink and aperitif whilst you peruse the menu before being lead into the dining room. The tasting menu comprised 9 dishes including appetizers, a main course, cheese board and...

Reeds suggests top quality as soon as you enter the drive and it does not disappoint. An aperitif in the lounge before an amazing choice of fine food cooked buy the great chefs in the kitchen. The service was very very good too. One of the finest restaurants you could visit and don't discount how popular yet exclusive this is....

We stayed here for 3 nights with friends. Super rooms. Great base for visiting Canterbury and N Kent coast. Excellent breakfasts. We ate in the restaurant each night. Lovely food and good service. Not cheapest place we have ever stayed but good value for money.
