Stayed for just one night at a last minute trip to Kent, the hotel room was clean although quite small but comfortable bed and was fine for one night. We had dinner in the restaurant which was ok, breakfast was nice, staff pleasant.

We stayed en route to a wedding, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pub is friendly with a good ambience, and the food and drink were good. The staff were very helpful, and made our visit very comfortable. Excellent location.

Have often stopped for lunch here in the past. There's a nice comfy informal relaxing area around a bar. It's great for a chat and coffee or a light bite to eat. The staff were courteous and attentive. However, we ordered smoked mackerel pate, but the waitress returned from the kitchen and said that no mackerel had been delivered that...

It was such a joy to discover service of such a high standard. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. In particular we would like to thank Jackie, Katy and Ellie whose warmth, humour and professionalism made our stay so enjoyable.

We love the George hotel. It's very old and typical of the area in Kent. Always friendly staff, good food, clean and comfortable and the period features are fascinating. Would highly recommend for couples especially due to its cosy atmosphere.

Very friendly and helpful staff . Small room (though lovely big bathroom) nicely decorated but disappointed by very uncomfortable mattress and extremely creaky bed. Noise from bar downstairs was intrusive and there was no internal door lock, which was a bit worrying. Also overpriced in our opinion. Worthy of the £105 (from) on the website but not £150 that it...

Don't often get taken out by my children, but on Monday the 27th April it happened. Chose the George as the previous week I had seen the prawns coming out the kitchen and liked what I saw. The food was excellent and the service was also very good, thank you Fraser and his team.

I wanted to like this hotel because of it's distinguished history and the fact it's the only place to stay in one of my favourite Kent towns, Cranbrook. It does offer lovely accommodations with ok appointments and a comfortable bed HOWEVER the walls of this hotel are comically thin. I stayed in the Copper Room, which had a beautiful bathroom...

Stayed for one night in a feature room. This is a pleasant hotel that combines its old character very well with modern expectations. Obviously, the 'olde world' charm comes with some drawbacks - crooked and creaky floors in places and quite few steps to encounter - but overall quality and facilities pretty good. Bed could have been a bit more...

Me and my mates are regulars at this pub. We came in to watch the football on a Sunday, and before kick off we were told to leave the room and sit outside while they had a team meeting. This was after spending £20 on drinks and food in preparation for the big game.
