One of the worst hotels ever! The hotel was very dirty! Pur room hadn't been cleaned from the last people, lots of dust, dirt and mould, when asking for a refund I was shouted out and made to feel awkward for booking on booking .com, eventually they paid me back! But the hotel in general is gross! Our bed had hair from previous guests in! When mentioned they said it's an old building what do you expect! Parking is limted and most of it is taken uo by the owners car! In general a very disgusting and dirty hotel! We lasted an hour before leaving and checking in at a travelodge! Avoid at all costs
The cleanliness of the bathroom was totally unacceptable and no room cleans were conducted as requested over a 3 night stay meaning bins were full and the state of the bathroom remained dirty. This left us unable to shower/clean due to the black mould and dust in the bathroom in particular. There were cracked tiles, black silicon and orange grout alongside the black mould which was clearly visible in most parts of the shower units we travelled with an elderly gentleman without standing health issues so we were unable to make use of the bathroom. The bin in the bathroom was caked in muck, there were muck splatters on the door frame and wall near the mirror suggesting this hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. There was brown limescale around the sink and taps also. The shower head and support was full of soap scum also suggesting this too. The room in general was filthy. There were marks and handprints on the mirrors, dust on all skirting boards, dirty window frames and windows and were beginning to doubt if the bedding was even changed between check ins/checkouts. The stay was completely spoilt by the unclean and unhygienic bathroom. Another concerning point is that 1 door remains completely unlocked at all times at the bath of the property leaving the b&b complexity unsecure. This was even pointed out by the owner. All valuables had to be kept in our car outside which even ended up being blocked in by their “maintenance guy”…
This Hotel was good value for a short break on lovely Isle of White. Nice comfortable bed with clean towels and good location in Ryde. All local amenities close by and Wetherspoons just down the road on Union street
Yes the hotel was budget, could do with a face-lift but it was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, clean towels, lots of mirrors for putting on make up, strong flush on the loo! Shower not as powerful but does the job, we had a great time...The walk was a bit of a steep climb one, but no 2 bus goes past and stops outside All Saints church which is literally opposite. You may wish to take sleep mask as emergency sign lights up in the dark!!
Basic accommodation but faultlessly clean. We stayed in family room that was a reasonable size, 1 double bed and 2 singles. Room had 2 Televisions (both DVD players), one for the singles and 1 for the double. Ample number of plug points, even with multiple devices and a mobility scooter batter to charge. Beds were comfortable, even for my wife who suffers from a bad back Working fridge in the room, access to a guest kitchen and we were well supplied with tea and coffee makings. Co-op corner shop is within easy walking distance as is centra ride The free Wi-Fi was very good, we were able to stream multiple podcasts, netflix shows and browse the web with no slowdown. Drawbacks: The carpark is small and can be awkward to get into or turn around in minor noise issue at night due to it's proximity to a medical centre…
Had double room which had no window and could feel the springs not any padding in the mattress. Just offered a blanket to put underneath. Other room was 3/4 Single beds. 2 ring hob and fridge in double room but not equipped with pans, crockery etc. Offered use of communal kitchen Not very good value due to popularity of staycations so did at least expect a comfortable bed. Location fine
Booked the Abingdon Lodge quite some time ago for my Mother and Brother to stay there when we got married. One week before their arrival, the hotel requested to cancel the rooms. Obviously to my shock, I decided to call the property. They went on to say that the rooms had maintenance issues and wouldn’t be available. (Well they were available, but he was moving other guests into our rooms). I explained the situation and his reply was “not my problem”! He explained that he’d given me ample time (1 week) to find something else. Now baring in mind it’s well into August and nothing is available! I called Booking.com and they said they couldn’t do anything so I had to tell my mother and brother that they couldn’t attend my wedding…… 5 minutes after the cancellation had gone through, the rooms were back on booking.com at a much higher rate. Looks like a blessing in disguise to be honest as the hotel is apparently horrendous. Horrible hotel, greedy owners, avoid like like the plague…
Booked for guests for our wedding and the owners cancelled the room last minute then relisted for more money on booking.com straight after. Left totally in the lurch in mid august. Greedy. Avoid at all costs
Wonderful owners, (new to the business at the being of the year so ignore previous comment.) We stayed in The Lodge, large well equipped room, that sleeps 6 and had our own kitchen and private entrance. The hotel is in a great location in Ryde, close to the beach and town.
There are not frills in this establishment. The room was ok, the en suite was not the cleanest but not the worst I have seen either. The check in was easy and it is in a reasonable location. You are not going to be wowed but you are not going to feel cheated either. They do not offer breakfast but we would recommend Number 64, well worth the walk.
