We stayed there last weekend. The hotel is okay not as expected for the price. We enjoyed the spa and the room is comfortable. Initially we were given a room with disable access and asked if they could change it for us in case someonE' else who may need it, which were action. StAff are friendly. breakfast was okay. The only down side is we left our swimming wear in our room and asked whether they found it on their loss property and they said they did not find it. For a 4 star hotel and its good reputation it make me questions?? Our swimming wear were very sentimental to us- loosing a lost property in a good reputation hotel is a very NO NO for me. So if someone from the hotel is reading this please take this into consideration. A lost property into an hotel especially inside the room is not acceptable. !!! We stayed in room 44 (weekend sat 21-22 May.2022). I have loss property before in an hotel and they have always found it. Now I am questioning'' people honesty and the hotel''. I am only putting this here so that it does not happen to anyone else, if its not written that mean it never happen. if you do find our swimming wear we would appreciate if you could get in touch with us. Many thanks…
Nicely appointed rooms which are spacious and well decorated. Great setting by the side of a creek/large lake in a well maintained park. Pleasant modern bar overlooking the lake with plenty of seating inside and on the terrace. The staff are friendly and try their best to help. Nothing to find fault with the staff and hotel. The problem is the food which does not vary from day to day. The blade of beef was fine but the crab and risotto were poor. Starters were basic. This is just acceptable after a long journey to eat at the hotel. A longer stay means eating out in and around Ryde where there is plenty of choice. Nice pub in Havenstreet a couple of miles away.
My wife and I stayed for two nights and we had a wonderful time! Lovely hotel in a lovely setting. Our large double room was spotless and we couldn’t fault it. The food was equally good and the staff were friendly, efficient and professional. I highly recommend it to anyone!!!
The restaurant is stylish, spacious and with a lovely outlook over the millpond. The dining experience is let down by the menu and food. The venue gives the expectation of something better than the most basic and, not very good, pub food.
Fabulous lunch and spa day, we all had an enjoyable time and would highly recommend it. Treatments and spa facilities were excellent loved the Lavender steam room. Lunch was delicious and the waiters and waitresses were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be going back.
This was my 3rd visit to the spa and I’ve always found it lovely. Overall it was lovely and relaxing. However, there were two steam rooms not in use which was a pain. I also thought on this visit I would treat myself to a back, neck and shoulder massage. I wish I hadn’t bothered! The massage is meant to last 30 minutes. I was having the massage for no more than 21 minutes to be exact! The masseuse did not ask of the pressure was ok etc! In fact the pressure was dreadful and it just felt like someone moisturising my back. My dad had a massage and said the exact same thing.
Having booked this spa day as a treat for my mum, we both left feeling deeply disappointed. When you have been fortunate enough to experience a few spas you have certain expectations. Initially, the receptionist couldn’t find our booking & questioned whether we had the correct day - hardly a warm welcome. She was unsmiling and could have done with some customer relations training! Once she’d found our booking she told us where to go. There was no offer of towels so we asked for them. She unwillingly handed us towels but told us that robes were only given to guests booking treatments. Once inside, we discovered that the pool only had room for 3 loungers (all occupied) so the only other option was soft seating. 3 loungers are not really enough for several spa guests. It was also rather a shame that one of the saunas was broken especially after lockdown & several months where repairs & maintenance could have been undertaken. The hand drier in the ladies changing room was also broken. The premises had a tired feel about it and the staff seemed extremely disinterested / unmotivated. The day was less than inspiring and left us wondering if Lakeside is about to go into receivership. Probably a lovely place to go for a treatment but falls far short of expectations for an actual spa day. Such a shame.…
The hotel has good facilities although dated, and it's relatively well located, however, the service is very disappointing. The extra bed for kids was a very cheap and fragile and uncomfortable sprung folding bed. Very limited time for kids at the swimming pool, which coincides with breakfast time and no activities. The worst/limited breakfast I had in a 4 stars hotel ever... ( No ham nor cheese, shortage of croissants, fruit, yoghurts, etc... Scrambled eggs didn't taste and looked good. Very very poor. Once stressed with the staff, they commented that they weren't prepared for so many people on the Easter bank holiday. Poor management. For that price range, I do not recommend it.
The hotel building seems a bit dated on the outside but is modern and clean on the insides. We had 2 rooms. One triple with a car park view and one lake side view on the first floor. The view of the lake was amazing. If you want to sit outside get a downstairs lake side view. Rooms are pretty standard. Bed was comfort but pillows could be upgraded. The bathroom was nice (dark marble) and decent shower. Poor lighting for make up as per most bathrooms in hotels. Lovely huge soft towels. The spa: I was worried about this with previous reviews that it would be dirty and non working hot tubs. However, was pleased to find a lovely pool and a nice indoor working hot tub and an even nicer outdoor hot tub. Above the hot-tub outside are 2 seating areas, screened off from each other. The furniture looked fine and not broken like suggested in reviews. Obviously is it was very busy you couldn’t have loads of people sitting around. There are 4 steam/sauna rooms. 2 indoors and 2 outdoors of different temperatures and smells. They seemed to be working well. The whole area seemed nice and clean. I however couldn’t get the lockers to work. I would not suggest this as a place to have a spa break but as a hotel with a pool and hot tubs for families or couples was a bonus. Dinner: One of us had the short ribs which were apparently delicious in an amazing sauce but the amount of meat of them was sadly minimal. The steaks were delicious but the peppercorn sauce was bland. The crab was nice but they mixed the white and brown meat and mixed it with dill and mayonnaise which was not expected. The puddings were nice and the cheese board was a bit boring. Breakfast: The tea was Twinnings which was very hard to get strong. The coffee was poor, especially the second morning when it was so weak it was undrinkable. There is juice, fruit salad, cereals, 2 types of pastries and toast. Unfortunately just sliced bread, not loaves you can cut yourself or rolls. The cooked breakfast was seemingly all locally sourced. Nice bacon, sausages etc. Sad triangle hash browns. The mushrooms weee amazing. Huge portobello ones which were delicious. Scone tea: Scones were delicious. Lovely clotted cream, slightly disappointing jam. The Prosecco was not nice. But they did kindly do a non alcoholic Prosecco for the children which they enjoyed. The lady on the front desk who I think owns the hotel was so nice and so helpful. She arrange for our cab in the evening and helped me get a better deal when originally I had booked via a 3rd party. Very much appreciated. We had a lovely stay and it fitted out needs, but in my opinion, it is expensive.…
I hadn't visited before outside of a function, I was there to access the restaurant and spa, so didn't have a clue what to expect. We made this clear on our arrival. The staff, although very pleasant, didn't make it any clearer. We constantly had to question what we were doing and what came next. The afternoon tea was lovely and it was brilliant to see that they catered for all dietary requirements. When we finally arrived at the spa, again, the staff were lovely but not very helpful. The spa, however was not as delightful as the restaurant. The changing area was dirty, there was no toilet roll and people had filled up the lockers without using a pound or a token so there was no where to put our belongings. Obviously, this wasn't the staff's fault but it was clear that the changing area wasn't checked very often. The spa area was comfortable and clean but it could have been helpful to have more notices to advise which area provided what treatment. Our personal treatments were fantastic, again, the staff lovely but they need to realise that, when the public are sat in the bubble lounge, they can hear everything the staff are talking about including swearing and slagging off their clients...…
