Delightful hosts, most welcoming, like a home from home. Comfy bed, relaxing ambience. Full marks for the breakfast. If you want to wind down and relax I highly recommend Ruskin Lodge. I could also charge my electric car.

Great hosts, beautiful house and fabulous breakfast. Briliant value for money. Well kept family home, clean and tasteful. Had everything we needed for a comfortable nights stay whilst hiking the coastal path.

We found Ruskin Lodge through trip advisor. We paid a deposit by transfer. We took a car ferry from Southampton. Did you know you are over half way to East Cowes by the time you've cleared the Southampton Water? There's a lovely park behind the sea wall, with Lido, just left as you arrive. Brilliant pause or children.Ruskin Lodge? See...

With the strains of a grand piano wafting through this lovely late Victorian home and surrounded by period furniture and original art works, one could easily be back in the days of John Ruskin and Lewis Carroll.....but not unless they had wifi too!! Second time here....calm and comfortable stay yet again.

We stayed here with some friends and really enjoyed it. The owner was very helpful in figuring out plans that fit just what we were looking for and the rooms were very comfortable. Also, the breakfast was fantastic.

We were warmly welcomed and felt at home instantly. The bed was comfy. Homemade bread and a filling breakfast cooked to perfection by the lovely Willow! And the icing on the cake was that the freshly ground coffee was excellent, a great start to each day!!

Total value for money at Ruskin Lodge where we began the most relaxing and comfortable start to our visit to the IOW. The rooms were full of the most interesting things - books, art, music and comfy, relaxing sofas. The breakfast was out of this world with home cooked food and variety and choice. There was a family feel, making...

This was our first time on the IoW and we were so pleased to have found this lovely b&b. It is a most interesting victorian lodge with fascinating oil paintings. The rooms were very clean and comfortable (they kindly moved some of the tail height china in the hall and bedroom as we had our chocolate Labrador Maxi!). Very quiet...

My two friends and I were walking around the Isle of Wight in the space of three days and had decided to break up our journey in Freshwater Bay and Shanklin. We weren't the perfect guests as we had got delayed on our walk and arrived considerably later than we'd predicted but the owner Simon was more than understanding and...

Stayed here for a couple of days, off peak, and it was wonderful. Simon was a perfect host, in a beautiful and interesting house. The collection of paintings, artifacts and antiques was a incredibly interesting. Simons attention was fantastic, a coal fire in the guest lounge and a great breakfast. Everything top class.
