Helpful welcome then into polished wood, plush décor, much 'yachtie' memorabilia, deep armchairs, a little faded grandeur, honour bar(I think, but didn't use), library, boxed games. Room with excellent views of the Solent, clean with all mod cons, very full and varied breakfast Very much our sort of place. Parking limited. Only regret is that we were only there one...

My wife and I and and another couple stayed at Villa Rothsay Hotel for one night, and found it a delightful place. Wonderful Victorian decor, excellent food for both dinner and breakfast, pretty views of The Solent (the body of water separating the Isle of Wight from the mainland), comfortable king-size beds, and very helpful hosts/owners Margaret and Miranda, who...

Me and my Husband have just arrived back from a lovely stay in the Villa Rothsay. The staff are excellent the room and hotel are very quirky. We had the carvery at the hotel last evening which was delicious followed by drinks in the large comfy lounge by the open fire. The breakfast this morning was plentiful. We just couldn't...

Only had the opportunity to spend one night at this small and welcoming hotel - which was a shame. Everything was entirely to my taste and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who isn't a fan of Scandinavian minimalism in their hotels. It is a lush and indulgent trove of Victoriana (or at least the public rooms are) -...

A warm welcome for our party of five with drinks in the drawing room, and time to relax and enjoy the cosy atmosphere and beautiful seasonal decorations before dinner. The dining room and tables were sumptuously decorated, with plenty of space around the tables so none of that "on top of each other" feeling that is so common in other...

I have an unexpected night in Cowes and my yacht club is closed week nights in the Winter. The Villa Rothsay presents a step back in time to the period when Edward V11 reigned but with 21st century comfort. Splendid sea views from my triple aspected large warm room with all amenities and a huge comfortable bed with spotless cotton...

A fantastic hotel which maintains its Victorian charm. The owners could not be more helpful and the evening meal was really good. The honesty bar is a welcome touch. We stayed there for friends wedding and it was a great choice. A short walk in to Cowes and very convenient for the Solent. Looking forward to the next opportunity to...

We had a lovely time at this hotel for a weekend away. Villa Rothsay is a truly special and unique place, packed with history, artefacts and sailing-related memorabilia. Our meal on the Saturday evening will stay in our memories for a long time. The food was delicious and plentiful. It’s a wonder the table wasn’t groaning with the weight. The...
