Stayed here for the weekend and was blown away by the hospitality shown from the minute we arrived late on Thursday to our departure on Sunday. Our room was very spacious, clean and warm and a particularly nice touch was the heavy duty blackout curtains which meant we were undisturbed by an apparently hefty thunder and lightening storm on the Saturday night. This is a busy pub but there were always enough staff on hand to cope and they did so with smiley faces and a genuine desire to help. The menu offers a wide range of good pub dishes but the pie is a masterpiece, totally homemade and only to be attempted if you love food and have a big appetite! We were surprised how inexpensive everything was as this must be one of the very best sites on the island and we will definitely be returning soon. No wonder it is so busy!…
This place is a firm favourite with us on a regular trip to the Island. Generous portions, good service as always. I saw one customer demand a refund as his Lasagne was too large ! Unbelievable, did he not know leaving a little if too much was an option. ( Spot the brain cell ! ) Many more dishes we would have liked to try, steak and ale pie, King prawn and Salmon burger to name but a few.
Fantastic night away staying in a sea view room. Arriving at the Wight Mouse nothing seemed to much trouble for the friendly staff warm greeting shown to our room a large sea view being able to see west along the coast as far as the needles and beyond. A pleasant walk up to a local landmark (the pepperpot) then back to sit in the beer garden listening to the birds before getting ready for evening meal using our large shower room on suite the room had a large tv Tassimo coffee, iron, hairdryer full size kettle 2 seater sofa more than enough storage, dressing table. You could easily use this as a base for a week ! Then back to the bar for our meal a wide range of wine availability at very reasonable prices good selection of specials available oven baked cod loin with Chorizo for myself and lamb chilli for my partner followed by pistachio tart and a banana brûlée all cooked to perfection service was prompt but never pushy ended evening drinking with the owner and his wife will definitely be going back ten out of ten !…
We stayed for one night while walking the Isle of Wight Coastal Path booked through Absolute Escapes. The room was modern, comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The evening meal was excellent from an extensive menu and breakfast was also excellent.
We stopped here on our coastal walk round the Isle of Wight, and I can imagine many others do too as there is not a huge choice in this part of the Island. However it was an excellent stay with a beautifully-presented modern room. I asked for something which wasn't on the set breakfast menu, and they not only did it but cooked it very nicely. We ate here in the evening too and the food was excellent - very generous portions.
