We booked to stay here for the night and have a meal for Valentine's evening. In all it was a great experience. We had a ground floor garden room at the back of the hotel. It was very warm, and had everything we needed. The bed was really comfy. We had drinks in the bar at about 5:00. It was...

Had a lovely meal again here, live this restaurant always refreshing menu, changes every time we visit, all fresh ingredients & in season. Great waitresses. Have been eating here for 6 plus years now & never had a bad experience. Thanks team.

The conservatory is a lovely building at the rear of the pub and the setting at night is very attractive. The menu is not overly exciting and is full of crowd pleasers. The desert menu is boring in the extreme. I enjoyed sharing a fish platter but everything on it could be bought in Waitrose. I shared a lamb shoulder...

At the entrance it says afternoon tea, that means scones and tea, the lady, the only person serving 2 bars didn't even know what a cream tea is, nor do they actually do afternoon tea at all. Please remove your deceiving sign thx. We got a coffee though

After a great walk up Ivenhoe beacon,a great lunch at the greyhound in Aldbury. The landlord has a great sense of humour, the food and drinks are always excellent and good value for money. With the weather being cold and miserable. The fire is always a great welcome. I would recommend this place to anybody. I have had several evening...

Always a smiling welcome here. One veggie option for Sunday lunch was roast sweet potato with quinoa; it was expensive for very cheap ingredients. It was dry. A dressing made with pomegranate molasses or spicy tomato sauce would have made it worth the bother. A seasonal tip: if you go there for a meal in cold weather, make sure you're...

A group of us popped in for a light lunch, after having completed a long walk in Ashridge. The pub was cozy and warm, and the welcome from the staff was cheerful. The menu looked really varied, I wish we had the appetite for a full meal. So we basically all ordered from the starter menu, which was excellent. I...

We chose to go to the Greyhound because it looked like it would be a step above normal pub food. Certainly the prices are a lot higher (£147 for 4) but we would have been happy with that if the quality was there...it wasn't. When my daughter asked if she could change order sweet potato fries instead of chips she...

The roast dinners here are excellent & they staff were friendly enough. The pub looks nice and the price is reasonable. The one downside, was that we were in and out within 40 minutes. Would have been nice to just relax but the turnover of guests was high.

We had dinner last night with a group of twelve. Food was delicious and service impeccable - everyone really enjoyed. The Christmas menu was very extensive and there was lots too choose from. Also loved the ambience of the place - a cosy bar and warm inviting dinning area. Will be going back.
