We visited for lunch one day whilst on holiday. The pub was located down a long track and what felt like in the middle of nowhere. It had a good, large children's play area but unfortunately on the day that we visited it was heavy rain so our son did not manage to play outside. We went into the pub...

The pub is out of the way and down a long lane. We parked in the large car park and took the dog for an hours walk which begins right outside the car park. When we returned we went into the pub for lunch. The friendly girl behind the bar made us, including the dog, very welcome. We had a...

Stopped here for lunch while traveling around the New Forest. Although it's a nice location and the pub looks good and service was quick I was a bit disappointed with the food. The burgers were pretty ordinary and the chips were soggy oven cooked ones. The beer was good and the barman knew his ales. Some of the outside tables...

A quaint hotel and restaurant, off the beaten track (read gravel track with pot holes) which only adds to the charm and feeling of seclusion. The room we stayed in was small but had everything we needed including a nice big bath. New forest ponies wander freely around the grounds which was a real highlight for our toddler, as was...

Lovely location where you can cycle to from Red shoots campsite. Plus it has a very nice playground for my child to have fun and play while me and my husband have a brilliant hot chocolate break! Also ,even when its raining you can go inside to have even more excellent food!

Recommended by locals, the drive over the New Forest commons was spectacular. A friendly welcome for our group of 10, and very fast service. starters good, mains a little disappointing. Probably mass-produced/pre-preprared apart for the "specials" which got the best reviews from our party. No problem at all when one of us sent back a quiche that was all pastry...

Stayed here for two nights with friends. We were made to feel very welcome from the start and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were very friendly. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Good pub grub and excellent breakfast. What made it for us was the location. It's in the middle of the forest and so quiet and peaceful....

Cycled here for lunch. Brilliant location in the woods surrounded by great walks and cycling. Pub has a great garden with good childrens play area. Inside the pub has multiple rooms and feels cosy. They also do accommodation (including for horses!)

Spent Saturday night here as we needed accommodation in the area that would allow us to bring our dog. Location is beautiful - right in the middle of the New Forest down a track. Arrived on a sunny day - the beer garden was busy but as it is huge - no problem finding a table. Lunch, dinner and breakfast...

We stayed here for one night last week with our two spaniels. It's off the beaten track surrounded by the beautiful new forest, lovely long walks. We had the superior room which was huge, plenty of space for us and the dogs stuff. The staff were very friendly and the food was good too. It's an old pub with accommodation...
