The B&B was clean and spacious. And when we inquired as to the best place to go for our evening meal, the staff couldn’t be more helpful in recommending various restaurants to visit. Also this was a great location, as very near to the high street.

Very happy we choose this hotel for our 2 night stay. Our dogs were spoilt, lovely staff. Good breakfast . We had a lovely large room, clean and very comfortable bed. Good sized hot shower. Fluffy towels .Some road noise as at the front but fine with the windows closed. Very close to the town and lots of pubs, plus lots of good walks . Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Located so close to town you can walk there in a couple of minutes. The hotel is very clean, very friendly staff and my breakfast was one of the best quality breakfasts I’ve had in a while. Plenty of choice for shops, cafes, restaurants or pubs in the town. Our room was big with a comfy bed and clean bathroom. Topped off with a very reasonable price for an overnight stay. I would come again if I was in the area

Excellent stay. What fantastic staff. The accommodation is basic, however what makes this place is the location bit mainly the fantastic attentive staff that pay your dog attention and are so kind. We had the best stay and have booked to come again. Sociable room is the best as it has a bath. Thank you all.

Just enjoyed 2 nights here. We had 1 double and 1 twin, both of which were much bigger than we thought they’d be. From start to finish the staff were all wonderful, so lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. They welcomed our dog, who had his own sausage breakfast. The rooms, were beautifully clean, and so was bedding and towels. Parts of hotel could maybe do with updating, but after a pandemic for 2 years, I’m sure they are just trying to get back on their feet. I’d much rather support small, privately owned hotels than larger chains. The breakfast was delicious, the sausages the best. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back.

Stayed for 2 nights and really can't fault it. Large car park, easy, early check in, the staff were very friendly. Our room was small ( I realized after I had booked a small double) but clean and comfortable. The location was perfect, only a few minutes from the high street and the breakfast was hot, fresh and delicious. Many thanks, we will be back

A bit misleading to call it a hotel because it is really a B&B. It scores well on many points - it is in a very convenient location for walking into the village; it has good free parking, it is clean and quite well appointed; the staff are lovely; the breakfasts are just wonderful; and it is good value for money. I would have awarded five stars but the bed was uncomfortable as the mattress was worn and the springs sounded as though they were trying to escape. On a lighter note, we were amused at the irony of allocating us The Whippet room. Whippets are lean, sleak and fast. We are none of those! Also there is a fire door at the top of the stairs with a very strong spring - rightly so. However, the skill required to gracefully negotiate this door when carrying two items of luggage is something this 80 year old has yet to acquire!

I visit this area regularly and this was my first time at Penny farthing. The hotel was lovely, very clean, comfortable and warm . The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. The breakfast was very good. Nice location and large car park. Only criticism is its a little out dated and tired with a lot of stairs but thats just my personal opinion. You won’t regret booking here it really is lovely.
