Great find - spoilt for choice in this beautiful part of Hampshire, however settled on the Peat Spade Inn and had a delicious lunch. Service was prompt and efficient, even though we arrived far too early for our booking, and the food was well presented with vegetables cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend and most definitely return.

We joined friends for lunch and despite some very variable reviews (it is difficult to understand how one person's "paradise" can be someone else's "never again") we had a very pleasant lunch. A very busy Saturday with all tables booked and busy garden suggested that for people they were getting it right. Food was all pub classics -fish and chips...

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. We stayed in the Churchill room, which was very comfortable and individual. Had a great night's sleep. Longstock is a beautiful picture postcard village. We went on some lovely walks both from the door and a little further afield around Mottisfont. The highlight for us was the amazing...

Our dining experience was very unpleasant due to being sat right next to the bar where a dog sat at arms reach to us watching our every intake of food. Felt uncomfortable to point this out to staff, as dog owner would of heard our complaint. We went out to enjoy a meal not to get involved in any altercation.

Fantastic location, fantastic rooms and superb staff. A thoroughly nice place to stay under any circumstances! The hotel was excellent but the real stand out was the behaviour of the staff. There was a small team, but they all made a huge effort to ensure my stay was as good as it possibly could be.

We stayed one night here. Our room was comfortable, the restaurant staff friendly and the food was good. To be fair, it exceeded our expectations. Breakfast the following morning was a decent full English. The rooms were clean and although not large, were better than many pubs with rooms.

Dropped by this inn in the hope of a bar snack whilst in the middle of a long country walk in this idyllic setting. On Sunday lunchtime at 1.30pm we could have been unlucky as it was buzzing with customers, however a table was found for us with an explanation that we might have to wait a while because of...

We are locals. We went here for a relaxing treat on Friday night. Sadly the new owners/management have changed the menu and staff are not that friendly. The prices are also SKY HIGH! The menu reads like a shopping list - too minimalist for its own good. The prices make Mayfair in London look cheap. The service is ok, but...

We just happened to be passing about just gone 11am and lo and behold a country pub open before noon!! We called in and were impressed by the welcome of the young couple who run it. Some good beers and sun streaming into the bar. Menu a bit limited but worth a try
