Have stayed at The Star before and would do so again. It's a proper pub with great staff, Sharon and Danni are friendly and welcoming and make you feel at ease. I stayed overnight, the room was above the bar but you can come and go at will and the breakfast in the morning was freshly cooked and filling.

Just on the outskirts of Romsey town centre, and a stones throw from where Strongs Brewery used to be, we found The Star. A solid, traditional looking pub from the outside, with a certain timeless quality, though looking a little tired. And awkwardly placed, on the corner of a busy road into the town centre. Inside is a contrast to...

We stayed two nights in mid July for a wedding. The Star could be really nice if some money was spent on it. The room was large and spacious with a double bed and a single bed, plenty of room, light and airy overlooking the main road out of Romsey. The bathroom was okay, tiles in good condition except for...

Just returned from a 2 night stay. wanted to stay somewhere close to Broadlands as we were fishing on the River test. Nice Pub, good ales, great breakfast. Landlady Sharon is lovely with no request to much trouble. Right in the town centre close to more pubs and restaurants. Will return soon.

Stayed here and drank here on numerous occasions in 2015 while working near there. The combination of the delightful Sharon (landlady), first class spotless rooms prepared and furnished with no compromise on comfort, perfect en-suite bathrooms or a shared bathroom, again spotless, a selection of beers and ciders in tip-top condition served by pleasant staff, various music nights, great locals,...

Stayed here Saturday, the accomodation was excellent, best night's sleep in a while, very comfy bed & nice ensuite shower room, lovely decor. The Landlady always serves up a good roast on a Sunday too, I would highly reccomend this Pub / B&B.

Great pub with a good atmosphere. Different beers on tap, and plenty of variety. The pub has wifi and plays live music. There's also a juke box as well. The food is good quality, and large portions which sets you up for the day! A car isn't necessarily needed if you're looking around Romsey, as its a very central location....

I was working nearby for a couple of days and just needed somewhere to sleep. The room was large and clean and the full english breakfast was good. All in all good value for money. One word of warning - I arrived to discover there was a band playing. They stopped at midnight and then the juke box went on....
