Lovely place so peaceful, my room was the garden room, everything you could wish for was there, bathroom spotless with underfloor heating, loved the brilliant white @ red colours. The bed was so comfy I slept all night, which is unheard of for me, I don't sleep well on the first night. The breakfasts were fit for a king all...

We arrived on Good Friday for one night only to such a warm welcome by the owners Joan and Jack. We had a fabulous room and the bed was... I thought I had died... wonderfully comfortable. The breakfast was superb and I would have no hesitation in recommending this terrific B & B. This was the start of a very...

This year our Good Friday reunion was hosted by our friends in Alton giving my husband and I the opportunity to spend a few days in a part of England we had never visited before. The countryside is beautiful and undulating with plenty of walking trails and places to visit. We chose to spend two nights at St Mary's Hall...

My five night stay at St Mary's last week was a pleasure. I had booked the single room 'Austen' while attending a floristry course with the talented Jay Archer in nearby Herriard. I was made to feel really welcome, and even had a hot water bottle made for me on a couple of really cold evenings, and the ice scraped...

Alton is a charming town, and this B & B was a great base for visiting the area. It is a quick walk to the town center, and you can also walk to the Hane Austen house museum and Chawton house. It doesn't take long to get to several stately homes or the countryside. There is a lovely terrace outside...

We stayed here for one night, just prior to Christmas. Communication with Joan before our stay was excellent and she was very accommodating with our arrival time. We stayed in the family suite in the garden and it was perfect for our needs (two adults and two children, aged 9 and 12). The room was spotless and finished to a...

This is one of those places that you remember because your hosts are so great. Joan and Jack run a first rate B&B offering great accomodation, terrific food and local knowledge that helps you enjoy what the area has to offer. If you are a 'Jane' fan it is the perfect place to base yourself! Would love to come back...

St.Mary's Hall, a converted meeting hall of the Catholic church, was a most comfortable retreat after a drive on the narrow, winding lanes leading from Highclere. Host Joan Mossop welcomed us with a restorative cup of tea in the little light-filled parlor adjacent to our rooms. The b an b is lovely, both inside and outside in the beautiful garden....
