Arrived on a very cold night. The room was pre-heated and sooo cozy - an absolute delight! The room had everything I needed including iron + ironing board. The bathroom was stunning. Breakfast was spot on. Would recommend to anyone!

We had a somewhat difficult journey to Clearwell after my SatNav decided not to operate correctly and mobile phone service was somewhat poor so Google Maps were out as well. We had to resort to good old map reading which is difficult in the Forest of Dean as many of the road signs were obscured by trees and hedges or...

We've had two experience of visiting this converted farm house in the Clealwell area and on both occasions found both rooms immaculately presented, equipped well with amenities and of a high material standard. Our last visit on new years eve was met with the same level of welcoming warmth from the reception to the individuals preparing and serving our meals....

What can I say... This place is just awesome! My girlfriend and I wanted a bit of a special night away, this place delivered and them some! The accommodation was great, we ended up seeing one of the clearest shooting stars through the skylight above our bed (maybe not something that can be arranged each night) but it was just...

We had such an enjoyable stay for our anniversary. We stayed in number 19 which was a beautiful, really high spec room. Bed was so comfortable with feather pillows and quilt and the bathroom was so lovely, featuring roll top bath and high powered shower. Evening meal and breakfast were both delicious and high quality produce was used; was lovely...

First off my wife and I had a nice time and ideally I would of awarded three and a half stars. However, and I guess this is the real test, if you look at some of my other reviews of similar priced " Hotel / Romantic Breaks "... you will see that other establishments have fared better. First off the...

Found this hotel on trip advisor, read the reviews and made a booking for a fireside break. We had a great weekend in a comfortable, friendly and relaxed hotel. We were upgraded on arrival to room 2. Really comfortable room and fantastic bathroom with 'award winning' shower. Nice food and unfussy, attentive service in the restaurant.

This is the eighth time we have stayed in this wonderful hotel near Clearwell Castle. We have stayed in many different rooms over the last few years. This time we stayed in the Roost, one of the recently renovated rooms. Colin and Hari who run the hotel have done a wonderful renovation project and their attention to detail is spot...

Having been to the restaurant before I was keen to revisit for a special occasion, sadly the visit was nothing like our previous experience. The food was ok - the main course good, but service was appalling. I just feel the whole experience was nothing like what you would expect from a restaurant selling itself as fine dining and charging...

Dear Hannah K I believe that in these circumstances honesty is the best policy. To address your points in turn: - The food sent back was a portion of chips which you described as being “hard”. We tried them and they were perfect. We did not charge for them but sent a complimentary portion of fondant potato instead. - I’ve...
