We needed an overnight stay as attending a family wedding nearby, so found this B'B a week before, not a bad place, staff friendly enough, they allowed us to check in early to get ready for the wedding we was going to nearby. It was okay for the one night , the location is excellent easy to find, near shops...

We spent 3 days and nights at the Terrace. We cannot say enough about how friendly, courteous and welcome we felt. It truly was the best place that we stayed in on our 4 week trip to the UK

Our room was clean, comfortable and had a fantastic view over the pier and sea. Breakfast was delicious, told them we were vegitarians in advance and were served with a lovely vegitarian breakfast and herbal tea. The beach was a 2 minute stroll through the cliff garden and the hotel was convenient for the shops and resturarants in the evening,...

My husband and I were lucky enough to book this guesthouse for a trip to Southend. A short walk from the train station and we were welcomed in immediately. The guesthouse is pretty old, so it has some charming authentic features. We even had a wonderful view of the pier from our room, which was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast...

Having looked at the web site for The Terrace we decided that it looked a nice place to stay - bad mistake! Arrived at The Terrace Saturday 18th July 2009 immediately felt ill at ease because of the casual attitude of the staff milling around. No body very smart everyone either just standing around inside or outside smoking. The Terrace...

We stayed at the hotel and the staff were very friendly and welcoming on the first day. Then it went all downhill. Despite not informing us in advance, they would not let us into the hotel as check-in time was 1pm. The rooms were crammed and tiny, the shower room was even tinier. Old wooden stairs that creaked at every...

I am sorry this guest had a bad experience at our Guesthouse. We pride ourselves on providing great service and in this case we failed. No excuses this was unacceptable. Creaky stairs- The Terrace Hotel was built in 1792 and a few stairs do creak a little. Thank you for the constructive critisism, it is appreciated if a little hard...

We arrived in Southend without booking any accommodation. We walked to the seafront and found that this B&B (not a hotel despite the name) had vacancies. A good choice. The room cost about £58 and there was actually 3 beds in there which could have got the price per person down even further. There was a great sea view too...
