My review title sums it up. For what we paid cannot fault this place it was basic but clean and central for Southend -on -Sea, no taxis required. 100 metre walk from the High street and a 5 minute walk to the promenade and pier.
The room was good, simple but comfortable. The problem is the hotel is situated in an area with many bars and the windows are note sound proof, so it can get really noisy inside the room. Also, it can be very noisy when people are in the corridor.
I usually use Premier Inn hotels but there were a lot of people going to a family party and we were all stopping the the Travelodge. The hotel itself was ok. Cheap and cheerful although I found the number of youths 'hanging out' in the downstairs lobby/lift area a bit off…
Bog standard travelodge. The room was clean and comfortable, although it took a while to work out how to use the heater. Perhaps put some instructions in the room? Carpets in the corridors need severe attention - stained with various things that make this less than appealing.…
Clean, comfy room, friendly staff, very efficient. No problems. Quiet night. Close to town anf everything we needed. Would stay there again. But disabled room on 3rd floor, lifts not to be used if there's a fire, don't know how I'd get out in my wheelchair!?
"Bring extra teabags and milk!"
"Nothing to add"
". As stated, can't fault the staff and the room, but the noise was a tad bit annoying."
"Maybe use rooms other side of the hotel on weekend nights "
"Asked not to have a room backing onto the bar behind as it can be a bit noisy."
