Catherine and Mark run a small family guest house, very close to superb beaches, the town centre and pier. We provide a first class service in a friendly manner with spotlessly clean accommodation. All rooms are en-suite/private bathroom, tea/coffee and LED flat screen TVS with FREEVIEW. WI-FI is available free of charge. Our first class breakfast is included within the price and we provide discounts for longer stays. There is plenty to do within the surrounding area, 2 theatres, beautiful gardens and walks. Amusements galore on the pier, which is being renovated to include a bowling alley, new rides for the adventurous and plenty to eat and drink. Why not come and join us our motto is "Come as a guest, leave as a friend."

Detailed Reviews
My girlfriend and I stayed here on Saturday night (our first anniversary together), as we had tickets to see a local show.
We were greeted on our arrival by Catherine (one of the owners), who was really nice and friendly. She showed us to our room, and made us feel welcome. Catherine went through the 'essentials' with us (breakfast location, Free Wi-Fi Code, where to find things, etc), but didn't bore us to death with the non-essentials or the opposite (telling us nothing) as we have experienced in other locations. All of this key information was also available in the room (which always helps in my experience).
We got the last room (on the top floor) due to our last minute booking. The view was 'not great' (Catherine apologised for this), but it was 'a room for the night', so didn't worry us. The room itself was modern/nicely decorated, and everything you needed was available.
Our only 'complaints' were :
1) The shower was 'not great' (not much water pressure). But we were on the top floor, and it was 'useable' .... so not the end of the world.
2) We were woken up a few times during the night by noisy/inconsiderate guests (which wasn't great), but we couldn't blame the owners for this.
Breakfast in the morning was fantastic!! Great selection of Fried Breakfast/Cereals, etc. Mark (the other owner) also made us feel really welcome, and the checkout procedure was really nice.
In the breakfast room were a number of 'regular visitors', which I always think is a good sign.....
The 'tagline' on the business card we left with read, 'Arrive as a guest, leave as a friend'. A bit cheesy perhaps(?), but we will definitely be staying here again when we next come to Clacton!!
In short, a lovely Guest House with great hosts.
Thanks Mark & Catherine for making our stay so nice! Looking forward to coming back and staying in the near future!

After booking a 3-night stay here whilst we visit relatives, I will certainly be returning! The owners are a lovely couple who were incredibly friendly. The twin room (with the private bathroom) we stayed in was clean, warm and quiet and the breakfasts cannot be faulted! Would definitely recommend this guest house, thanks for having us Mark and Caroline!

Stayed here for three nights in november, very welcoming couple and a great large double room. For the money I payed it was well worth it. Great breakfast, can't fault it. Like going home from home. Thanks

I prebooked one night at the Cabana Hotel and arrived at 4PM 2 May 2015 to find the property deserted. A scribbled note was left under the door handle which provided a telephone number to call. I called twice but my message was diverted to voice mail. As it was raining and gettind dark I left the property and was lucky to find alternative accommodation in Clacton on Sea. I complained to the owner but was told an email had been sent to my Australia address which of course was not accessable since I was in the UK and I did not have an electronic device. I was also told I could not complain to Trip Advisor since I had not stayed at the property and therefore had not assessed it. When I returned to Australia I found I was charged 39 pounds for accommodation which was not provided. The owners do not respond to my emails. This behaviour was the worst I have encountered in 12 years of holidaying in the UK.

We have just returned from a 4 day break at Clacton-on-Sea and we stayed at The Cabana.
We were in room 4 on the top floor with a fantastic sea view. We were met by Mark and basically left to our own devices.
Perfect Bed and breakfast, especially the Brekkie.... well done Catherine !! just joking Mark.

Title says it all really. We decided to go to Clacton for the night on the spur of the moment, and booked the last room left at the Cabana, which is a twin room. We had read the good reviews so were expecting a good experience. We were very warmly greeted on our arrival, it must be said that the hosts are so laid back that you feel instantly comfortable but this laid back nature doesn't apply to how they run their guest house. Our room was in the eves, and we were very pleasantly surprised, it was very clean, fresh and functional, it was more like a hotel room, though still homely and comfortable which suits our tastes perfectly. The bathroom, furniture etc were all very clean and in good condition. Nice comfy bed meant a good nights sleep, and the cooked breakfast looked great, although I opted for the good selection of cereals and toast. The Guest House is in a lovely location, bowling green opposite, a 5-10 min walk into the centre and just round the corner from Clacton's lovely coastline. With the cost of the bed and breakfasts, it's hard to imagine staying anywhere else when we come back to Clacton.

just yards from the sea and opposite the bowling club - the location was excellent. The stairs are a bit of a climb to the top floor but we had a sea view and the room and the beds, though basic, were spotless. Mark and his wife were very helpful and the breakfast was jolly good. We will certainly go again

We spent just over two weeks with our hosts Mark and Cathy at the Cabana. It was a very difficult time for us, arranging my mother's funeral and attending to all the associated legal and financial matters. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating. They went far beyond the usual provision of a breakfast(excellent!) and a room(quiet and clean) in an attempt to ease our emotional and physical issues. It's a cliche but true that "we arrived as guests but left as friends".
We would recommend the Cabana guest house very highly to all wishing to spend a weekend or longer in Clacton. It proved to be a real home away from home !

I stayed at the Cabana with my 12 year old and 6 week old sons from the 1st to the 3rd of August. The location is great and is close to the beach, not at all far from the town, arcades and pier and there is a carvery across the road. Mark and Catherine were most helpful before my stay when ringing, when we arrived we was greeted by them. They both are a really cheery couple and that immediately put me in a good mood after a long, hot and tiring journey. We was shown to our room which was clean, nicely decorated and had a nice en suite with a decent shower (!). The whole place felt really homely. There is a good variety of cereals for breakfast and the full english that they do is very nice, certainly set me and my 12 year old up for the day. I was late for breakfast on the second morning and was kindly cooked one (I was so chuffed with that because they didn't have to do that and there was cereal still out). Nothing seemed too much trouble for them and I left wishing I'd of booked an extra night. We will definitely be back (should we be allowed) and will recommend this place to anyone. I had stayed at another guest house in Clacton a few weeks previous and though the other was good, the Cabana outshone the other guest house. Excellent value for money, lovely family, good breakfast, cosy rooms and comfy beds.... Impressed is an understatement.

Hi, there is usually room to park in road opposite Hotel.
Hi. There is a taxi firm right outside the station. Cost around £4. Other than that it's a 20 min walk. Straight to sea front, turn right pass the pier and we are half a mile down on the right, opposite the Toby Carvery. Regards Mark
Thanks for thinking us but sadly we are full those night, can do 5th and 6th if you are interested. Please ring 01255 431913 and ask for Mark or Catherine
Hi Chlobel
A slow 10 min walk brings you to the heart of Clacton. We are based in the peace and quiet of Martello Bay just opposite the Toby Carvery. Hope this helps.
